Cold Start Engine Noise?

Hey, Since putting a pod on the GTI(for spool noise) im getting a really loud noise on cold starts, almost like a big exhaust leak, but it only lasts for 20-40 seconds... any ideas what it is and how to stop it?

Nah its normal, engine has VVT which opens up the exhaust valves to suck exhaust back into the engine on cold start to reduce emissions.

I usually let mine sit idling till this calms down (atleast) or usually a minute or two.

Its part of the car. I dont know exactly what it is. But you cant stop it. It does it on the stock airbox aswell. Just not as loud.

Its happens to all of the 1.8T engine (as i know), my friends Jetta 1.8T and Golf 1.8T GTI, Of cuz mine does that too, but after a min or so it will back to normal~ no worrys about it! :D
