k04 upgrade only 2.5 k????????? :|

i thought i read around 7 grand, or am i missing something here?

surely it would be better getting a bigger turbo than to spend time and money upgrading exhaust and intercooler (prob about 5grands worth)

wouldnt better gains be had out of the k04 with software to suit???

+ brake upgrades, Suspension, , exhaust, FMIC, LSD ... etc. etc. to handle (and stop) all the extra power.

Otherwise ... yeah, just 2.5K :D

already have suspension upgrade.

front/rear adjustable swaybars, eibach prokit, forge strutbrace (on the way)

i will be buying new pads and brake fluid shortly.

i wont run into any problems fitting a k04 with stock exhaust and SMIC will i???

Will there be a massive difference in power to what i have now?

-APR flash
-BMC panel filter
-Cupra R intake
-Forge TIP
-Forge Diverter valve

You'd be best to PM Guy, Mitch. He can give you much more detail than almost anyone else on the forum (he's done it).

Yeah I do remember it advertised for 7G's up until about 3 weeks ago. Maybe they mixed it up with stage III+ Garrett upgrade??? :?

Yep, they're not designed to cope with a KO4

Well 2.5k for a turbo swap, 1.8k for a ecu program to run the K04, 2.5K for a FMIC..... you're looking at $6800 right there.

i think what i would be looking at (if i was gonna get a borgwarner turbo) is a KO3-052 ... bigger compressor... more effecient... might get a price today.

Wow - I'm very impressed by Borg Warner's response!

Not very often will someone take the time to write something out like that!

Just upgrade the downpipe. Cooler is fine but on hot summer days you'll want a bigger one.

Otherwise, there's no problem.

Don't bother mate - I'm pretty sure the Polo already has best Ko3, If you were going to upgrade the turbo you'd want to go straight to KO4 or even just gt28xx. :D j:
