Hi All,
Has anyone in Sydney upgraded the stock audio unit on their car?
What unit did you go with please?
I have a liking for Bose but they are not standard equipment for VW I am told.

Which head unit do you have currently?
What do you want from the upgrade?
What features are you looking for?
What sort of money do you want to spend?
Do you currently have Bluetooth?
I have the RNS510 navigation unit and was happy with just adding an amp to power the existing speakers as the internal amp in all the stock headunits is only 4x20w. Would get even more mileage out of the stock speakers by offloading low frequencies to a sub, either under seat or boot mounted.

Thanks for the info - do not even know which head unit I have ( whatever came with the 118TSI as standard - there is no touch screen).
I want more "meaty" sound - currently I feel the sound is absorbed too much into the interior.
The single slot CD player is fine for me - the sound from that is not bad, it is only when listening to the radio that I find the existing speakers struggling.
Basically - I need the most bang for my buck <$500.
I do have bluetooth.

You probably have the RCD310, which is the single CD unit.
Maybe an under seat amp/sub like this might be the go:
