Hi all,

its been a while since my last post. Ive finally revived my Mk1 diesel for a drive to Hamilton and back after a head gasket replacement. Heres whats been done so far:
The motor was rebuilt, then cooked, then another head was built, then oil in the radiator, then another head gasket, still oil in the radiator.

The motor looses about 500ml of oil every 300kms, i assume that most of this ends up in the radiator (very messy). Given the very slow flow rate, and the fact that its on its second head gasket with the same problem, and cos its been cooked, i suspect a cracked block (heads been vacuum tested).

Anyone know how i can remedy this dire situation???

Thanks all
Matt

Get the block crack tested. You can do it yourself with some crack detection dye and a red light (U.V).
