I have an unusual problem that happens only on long drives.
I drive an MK6 Jetta with manual air conditioning. When doing long drives, the vents stop blowing air. I can still hear the fan working but it is as if the circulation control has turned off circulation via the vents (sort of when you switch circulation from the vents to the windscreen or footwell). However when it turns it off, all other outlets are off as well. It's sort of like the fan working but the circulation control has closed off all possible outlets.
This only happens on long drives, when I've got the air conditioning on for over an hour. To fix it I would need to turn off the air conditioner for about 2-5 mins and switch it on again.
Has this happened to anyone? Or if not what could be a likely problem. I told the dealership the last time but couldn't replicate it due to it only happening after extended use.
