Hi guys,
A bit of a specific question. I've got a HTC One which I use to connect to my 9W7 bluetooh unit.
Now, If I play music off the phone storage, my RNS unit will display the current track details. However, once I swap over to using Spotify (both streaming and stored), it reverts to just displaying Unknown/Unknown as the artist and song.
Has anyone had any luck or have any experience getting Spotify tracks to display?
Cheers

I have the same phone.
It depends on the application. The phone and BT unit fully support AVHCP v1.3 which supports track/artist info.
Spotify=no
Pandora=yes
HTC Music App=yes
Synology DSAudio=no (which annoys me as all my music is on my home NAS which I can stream on the go)

So Windows Phone is good for something then! ;)
I kid, I kid...I actually quite like Windows Phone 8.

lol so many people say that, then they use it and tell me how cool it is.
anyway, I think all platforms of spotify need developing further. as soon as I exit the app or its interrupted by call/sms, then it stops and wont go back to playing till I re-open the app and MANUALLY start it playing again :(

I was afraid of that. /sad panda
As a bit of a segway. How's the bluetooth streaming quality with your HTC One?
I actually find it's a step backwards from my old Desire HD. Sound is pretty crackly, particularly when playing rock music.
AUX sound quality is great though.

I find the streaming quality very good.
Obviously very dependent on the source how compressed it is. If there are any options for high quality or whatever make sure that's set.
Doesn't seem overly compressed with Pandora or dsaudio. Best of course via mdi with FLAC or 320kbps mp3.

Ah really? Alright cool. I'll have a look-see at what's going on. Have only had the phone for about a week, so there's a good chance I'm doing something wrong, hah.
Appreciate the response Kamold

Sadly the Spotify Bluetooth track listing is a Android issue. My wife's iPhone4 does it perfectly with Spotify over Bluethooth, track listing, start, stop etc all work.
Depending on if you want to use an unofficial Spotify version, someone over at XDA has created a android version with Bluetooth track listing included. I haven't tried it out myself as I usually just listen to the radio in the car.

Ahh, legend! Just got the .apk and gave it a whirl. Can confirm it works with the RNS510. Feels good, haha. (Just realised we can rep now as well, +1)

The fix seems easy enough, you would think Spotify could implement it themselves.
Considering it went well for you I might need to give it go. When you switched to the XDA version did you have to redownload all your offline playlists?

You'd think hey?
Yeah, I wiped all of my Spotify content and re-synced it. There were a few comments about things potentially going wrong if you didn't, so I just started fresh.

Just thought I'd post an update regarding bluetooth woes with my HTC One running through the 9W7 unit.
Turns out there's an android software issue affecting some users:
https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=39632
I'm following the conversation to see if there's any resolution. Otherwise, if you're willing to unlock the bootloader (which can be done quite easily on new HTC devices), there's a way to resolve the issue using custom roms/patches which can be found on XDA.

On the same vein the Synology NAS app that I have to stream my music from was recently updated and now shows song info.
So in most cases it's just the app author needs to implement it.

The problems of owning a Android device.
Kind of annoying that everything just works with my wife's iPhone.
