Looks sooooooooo much better!
If only we could colour code the black pillars.

2 of the many things that drew me to the Yeti:

The body-coloured B-Pillar & black A, C & D pillar combination
The big, round foglight/DRL combination and how it intersects the main light shape

The former of these seems to be a total turnoff to many, but I'm glad it stayed. A very distinguishing feature.

The latter of these is gone and, when combined with the overall more angular front end changes which totally don't match the smoothness of the rest of the body, this is a turnoff for me.

But I'm totally gonna get me those B&W badges for front & back.

Those are 2 different grille and airdam treatments that makes me wonder if they will be differentiating further between models or maybe these aren't the final production looks. The colour coded bumpers also make it look different

The interior is not too much different with the standouts being the wheel and new gear lever.

What a massive improvement for relatively little cost.

Not sure what the first article posted but reading media releases from Skoda.

The Yeti will have two models: a Country/Offroad and a City/Urban. From the photos the White one is the City version with color bumpers and skirts, hence not much off road driving but it's still capable. Identically mechanical to the Offroad version which has the original plastic grey numbers and skirting.

Engine wise both will have identical engine specs from the TDI to TSI. AWD and FWD. It's just the exterior looks that sets the two apart.

:)

And regarding the B pillar being the same color as the body, I think it would cost Skoda and VAG a lot more in redesigning four doors to make a new frame... Hence the continue use of prev gen doors and color coated doors...

I still like the look. Wonder if the roof will be body color or black? Has anyone truly experienced a hot interior due to the harsh sun we get in Australia?

I used to have a Black Subaru Outback, and in the 2 summers I've had my Yeti with black roof it has been nowhere near as hot when left in the sun for ages compared to Outback. Same for long drives in the sun - the Outback sometimes would really struggle to keep the cabin cool with all that heat being absorbed.

However this doesn't quite make sense really, since the roof would be where most of the cabin heat comes from - it's not like the black doors and tailgate of the Outback would add that much more IR heat to the cabin than the read doors and tailgate of my Yeti.

So either the last 2 summers were relatively cooler than I remember, or the Yeti AC is more efficient, or there's some other reason.

Looks pretty sleek. Wonder if I could retrofit the new led tails lights onto my yeti......

I think a different roof colour will still be an extra cost option as it is with the Fabia.

So the cabin space, front two seat area is larger than the Fabia? I take the Roomster is the one based on the Fabia and not the Yeti... :)

"The Roomster is Škoda's first car since the Volkswagen Group (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_Group)'s take over of the brand that is not based entirely on an existing Volkswagen Group platform (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Volkswagen_Group_platforms) - although it is fundamentally based on the A4 (PQ34) platform (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_Group_A_platform#A4), but with some unique additions.[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%A0koda_Roomster#cite_note-ETKA-1) It shares components with the previousŠkoda Octavia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%A0koda_Octavia)[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%A0koda_Roomster#cite_note-TG-launch-2) and the current Škoda Fabia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%A0koda_Fabia)."

New Yeti is out.
The New Å*KODA Yeti - Å*KODA (http://new.skoda-auto.com/en/models/new-yeti/)

A country cousin and a city cousin.....

Like all facelifts, styling is always seems compromised to me when new body bits are added to old body bits.

Interesting.... available 125kw TDI engine.

Presumably to keep up with the SUV competition. 125kW TDI engine has been around for a while (2008) on other VAG cars, so hopefully it's well sorted.... Audi's Q3 high end model has 130kW TDI.

My cobwebs are getting older. I used to know that - it's in the OS Yeti brochure I downloaded 2 years ago.

What i'm most curious about is if it's possible to upgrade the engine to a "standard" overseas specification and not get slugged with extra insurance....

Agreed. The lidded bin is good but its also in the current 4x4 models with the 77 getting open storage. There's been very little change to the dash with the facelift.

Agree, I like the truly unique front DRL/Fog lights.....no confusion between Skoda models......not scared to make a statement.
having bought a 103TDI I never got around to asking the salesman if it's permanent or part time 4WD.....?
(I shall now go away and hide my embarrassment)

Yep i do prefer our front to this, but it is the extra leg room I like and i don't mind the way the spare is mounted way better than our rav4.
