Whats the... good....bad oil on a 1995 Golf 1.9Ltr turbo diesel.

Would you touch one?

What probs.....?

the only problem is there isnt enough of them in Australia :( that engines a cracker!

Ok...........so should one buy one or not and if one does.........what are the probs one does/may encounter?

i would guess they're way overpriced and slightly gutless... the only downsides i can think of.

maybe the turbo might need replacing after 12yr's? check for full service history (you know all that kind of thing), the VW diesel is just about bulletproof, and the TDi isnt exactly overtuned so its not a stressed engine....
whereabout have you found one? im interested in finding one aswell

Hi .....there was one listed at Fowles the other week but it turned out to be just a 2ltr petrol.

Still looking.:(

Mk3 TDI's are great cars.

The engines are tough as nails.
Look for typical Body work issues and general Wear and tear on the interior.

You do not have to do much to the TDI to make it a real goer, simply removing both mufflers and putting in an oil catch can will really free up the engine a lot!
