I'm wondering what to do at the moment, my front rims are scratched up pretty badly, mostly by the previous owner.

On one hand they are wheel, they work as is, on the other I want them fixed.

Plan A:
Anyone happen to know what it would cost to get my current rims puleld apart, cleaned up and painted a colour? In or around Sydney (Campbelltown even)? Or even recommend someone.

Of course this means I would have to get another set of cheap rims to cruise around on in the meantime, which I could PROBABLY sell at the end so the final cost is very little.

Plan B:
Get new rims. Been looking on FleeBay as a start and stumbled across these:

Problem is they are in the states. Anyone happen to know roughly what shipping would be worth fir a set of rims.

Seems wheels are damn cheap overseas, but once I factor in shipping etc etc it may just be easier to get something locally.

For reference, this is what I'm trying to fix:

Check out the Audi TT wheel refurb thread created by PoloGTI. The filling will work well for shallow scratches like the ones in the photo. Give it a spray over with OEM silver or try other colours if you like :) Cheap alternative until you can find the wheels you want for a good price.

Hey def give that a go your self easy as to do. My post is locked untill i finish posting sorry. Another good DIY i found was:
You can always put the spear on and do one at a time to save money.

The spare would be an OK idea except that it's a space saver :(

As for fixing it up myself, I don't know that I could get the finish I would like, but then I suppose it's not as though it can do much damage now is it :P

...

OK, I have actually read both links now and it doesn't look all that bad, especially if I take the wheels off and do them one by one that way I don't have to actually drive around on the space saver.

Anyone happen to know what colour the stock VW wheels use or if it's just a standard colour? I'm assuming most decent auto shops will have the paint + clear coat I would need...

Nothing to loose to give it a go, Not sure how to find out the colour. The TT rims i am doing are not going to be the same colour as they were to start with so didnt need to find out.
