Hi,

So taking a pragmatic view of the changes to FBT I am looking at keeping my 2010 CC Tdi. By the time it exits (March-14) I will be at the 107,000Km mark with a change over of $21K.

I've been religious at servicing the wee beasty and have only had the bluetooth system and the cracked boot plastic replaced under warranty. Recently the battery died and the drivers mirror shorted with a $900 bill prompting me to think this through.

My question is, at that mileage is there anything I should be watching out for to get serviced beforehand? And any known issues that are common in the 100-180K bracket. From my reading in the forums its also sounding prudent to check out the non dealer mechanics. I've really enjoyed this car so thinking with some tlc I can keep it for a few more years.

Cheers

Mate haven't had many bad things with CC's at all apart from the regulars as you stated, bluetooth, cracked rear windshield etc. But not many major engine problems if any, being a Diesel you wanna get in it every once in a while and give it abit of a thrash to clear everything up but apart from that not too many problems. Always best to keep it to a dealer or at best a VW specialist as both specialize in these cars and will keep them running tip top, as soon as you take it to lube mobile, ultratune etc it all goes down hill from there.

Thanks for the advice, the VW specialist idea is looking the go (I noticed a few in another of the forums).
So far from research I think the one thing I will get done before it exits lease is to get the cam belt changed as I am way ahead on the lease (for the Km I do I'm only using 1/3 of the fuel budget) and if I don't spend the surplus it gets reversed back to my employer and run through PAYG so spending on items that need to be done next year anyway.
Can't see anything around the 21k mark at lower km that I would want that comes close to this car so its a keeper. And Ill put 10-15k away each year for a new or near new shiny in a couple of years.

If I had a bit of play money in the lease kitty & 100,000km on the dial I would consider replacement of the dampers & an ECU remap. It would make the car feel like new

Danke, heh no money in the lease kitty.. paying for the rattle in the instrument cluster to be dampened next week and got the quote from the leasing company for an extension (of sorts). ~$1200 in fees for one year plus interest is a joke so buying the car out.
