I don't really understand.
This has already been done with HPA kits on an R32/R36..........

Yes, HPA do supercharger or single/twin turbo kits for the R32 and R36 V6 engines.

Forgot that you were referring to the V6 based old Golfs.

But I don't recall if the old R32 based turbo kits got them down to 3+ secs for 0-60?

I think it looks utterly stupid, and moves away from where things should be going IMO (not-so-all-about-horsepower-cars-that-you-can-still-really-enjoy-due-to-the-right-blend-of-everything-especially-chassis-balance).

But good on VW for being... well, core. Showing this, in the flesh, to people at Worthersee, beats making people speculate by only showing a clay model at some exotic Swiss car show that only sheiks and media big-guns can get access to.

Bravo, VW :)

At least the mk5 one wasn't as pussy as this one. Only a twin turbo v6?!

Hi all

I'm a new, but increasingly avid VW fan and owner of a nice R36 wagon which I'm slowly doing bits and pieces to. I'm now also going to get the wife a late model 5-door Golf as soon as finance permits - I love the Golf, an amazing car and between the R36 and a warmed up Golf, I'd struggle to choose which to drive!

But now, I found this - this is the hottest thing on wheels I've seen for a long time!

Volkswagen's 503 hp, 186 mph Design Vision GTI concept (http://www.gizmag.com/volkswagen-design-vision-gti/27425/)

Sensational!

Enjoy!!

Fred

Thanks for the acknowledgement, I was beginning to think no-one was that interested!

I know its a concept car, but FARK! Thats one beautiful looking car, and the details on the performance are staggering, but I guess if they did build it, it'd be damn expensive!

Still, its nice to dream!
