Got these Sokie Tech (made in Taiwan) Gas Struts off eBay recently
Finally got around to getting a TORX (6) driver to get the hood hinge screw off with

Installation took about 30 minutes including stuffing around.

Here are some pics of the finished product. Shuts surely, and firmly, note I had to remove
the standard hood brace.

SHOULD do. That's why I included close ups of each end - compare them and see?
But the seller (SOKieTech) has an e-shop on eCrater (a US based e-commerce site) with specific kits for VW - though, as you know the US doesn't get the Polo.

I got mine on eBay through a seller called alvoturk9000 - supposedly in th UK - but he sent it from Taiwan.

On a footnote, one strut held the bonnet nicely, on its own.

I had a look on eBay last night and there are at least 3 sellers offering a specific damper kit for the 6R.

The mounts looked lighter though...

Does the fabia come with gas lift struts as standard?
Wondering if i could get a set suitable for the tiguan but it is manual lift.

No - I just fitted these myself yesterday.
In the last photo you can see where the manual strut/rod used to be.

Doesn't the Tiguan share parts with the Golf and Yeti?

Looks like the two dependant features is the bracket shape and the weight of the hood, as each damper is set to the weight of the intended vehicle...?

Try checking these out

and

http://www.superskoda.com/gr/Skoda/Yeti/Skoda-Yeti-hood-damper-KI-R

Either one should work, but based heavily on how the hinge and fender matches the bracket in each case.

Great idea, keep to do this on a 6R Polo :)

I'll try to compare your pics & see if the mounting points are the same.

I contacted that seller and was told no for the 6r polo. Doesn't mean you couldn't retrofit it providing they line up and are the right length.

Which kit did you buy from the eBay seller? I can see they've got kits for a Golf Mk3 & MkV & a Jetta - but no Fabia or Polo.

Did it come with all the mounting brackets?
