Any modifications? Anything you've done to the car lately or at all? What's the scan saying?

Yeah possibru.

I'll have a gander around.

To be honest, im EXPECTING the dash to need to be replaced so IF it is that, im not annoyed or dissapointed when I have to shell out hundreds of dollars to fix it instead of a 10c fuse.

strange.. use VCDS to do final control on the dash insert to see if you get the display up... try disconnecting the battery for 10 mins and then back on again... so many problems are cured with a battery reset there days...

Double check the wiring of the head unit, also check the battery charge with a multimeter, very odd..

Does the head unit turn on and of with acc power?

If it is battery, i'd be surprised if the LCD didn't light when the central locking worked, but who knows how many amps these elements need.

Head unit could be hooked up to the constant +12v, slow drain

wiring has been triple checked. Gav can confirm.

yeah it is wired with a switched 12v source (acc).

going to check the fuses tomorrow also.

the switched 12v source is DEF NOT wired to the constant 12v source.

may be clutching at straws and a random idea, could the earth be a dud? Can check with voltmeter, obviosuly +ve on the battery and -ve on a body panel.

Eh I doubt it.

Will test anyway...

Might sell up after this is fixed. A few to many gremlins for my liking.

Could be the cluster itself is bad or has a bad connection. Not hard to remove.

Sucks man.

Cluster reboot, at the source, ie plug off cluster and refit.
