golf GTI 1.8L motor. seems to be lots of work. aftermarket front mount intercooler, boost controller, ECU, stainless downpipes, full harness, big turbo, polished intake etc etc. $1500.00!!!

Big turbo ? At best a KO4 , but given most tuners run a VR6 MAF with KO4 its more likely a KO3s , thats if its even been changed ???
Why is this being wrecked anyway I dont see any damage .

surely no one would part with their money with that kind of description - 2.0T MK4 GTI - doesn't exist unless it's an engine swap, bore or turbo strapped to a NA 2.0L.

For other peoples reference - engine code, age, kms, service history, turbo model i.e K03 XXX or K04 XXX, brand of intercooler and why you're wrecking for a start.

Car has been rear ended I can vouch seen it-stat write off. Engine runs. Loads of work. 3-4K engine going for $1500. Get in quick!!!!

Engine would have to be AGU, cable throttle, bolt down coilpacks. MAF looks standard so I am not thinking K04.

Probably need Gav to clarify but that intercooler doesn't look like it suits a AGU at all - inlets and outlets on the same side - and even so without a brand name you won't get $700 for it mate sorry. You can get Forge, new and suited to the AGU for pretty much the same price.

not sure how much he's asking, but when I went to check out the springs & headlights I checked the brakes etc too, the front discs themselves had a LOT more disc meat on them than mine! So, 'top condition' from a quick look is my 2 cents..

This is my old car and I am pretty shattered seeing it being wrecked :(

I sold this car about two years ago to a guy that worked in the mines, not sure what exactly is done since I sold it but last I heard the guy had spent a heap on the engine. Had replaced the standard turbo, custom manifold, injectors, aftermarket computer, and it was making 176kw atw. Had a lot of traction issues. Now of course I can't confirm if he left it all like this when it was written off or if he returned it to standard before it was wrecked. From the pictures it looks pretty standard.

I bought it stock back in 09, and before I sold it the mods I did were the ASA 18x8 +35 rims, Weitec coilovers, THS intercooler kit, Genuine Hella Celis (Non-Xenon) head lights, Billy Boat turbo down pipe, diverter valve (can't for the life of me think of the Brand but it was a good one from the UK), AEM CAI, replaced all the hoses with Forge silicon ones, N75 J valve, Whiteline front upgraded sway bar, Yarrowsport rear brace.

Also it had the standard red recaro interior, was an '01 model and had the usual goodies like sunroof, cruise control, climate control etc.

Hope this helps out a bit.

Cheers for the info mate! Its had a big bump in the rear making it a stat. Alpine stereo should still be in there if someone hasn't ripped it out. I honestly haven't even looked at it, so make an offer. it'd be cheap :)

If it's there would you take $50? It's a good head unit but it's about 7 or 8 years old now. It should have an ipod cable linked into the glove box too :D I had that head unit in 3 cars, would love to get it back.

hi guys sorry for the responses. car is totally gone, ended up throwing out the rest of the exhaust, the power steering rack, front and rear subframes.. sigh,. had a freebies post up but no bites.
