Hi guys.

Just trying to tidy up a few things on my car. One problem i've got is the trim on the rubber seal around the front passenger side door has come away from next to the glove box all the way up to half way along the height of the windscreen.

Has anyone had to replace/repair this bit of trim and is there a best practice way to do it ? I had a chat with my old man and he thought we will just pull the whole seal off the car and re glue it all together before putting the seal back on the car. Ideas?

Also can anyone recommend a glue/adhesive for me to use on this or is any tough glue appropriate ?

Thanks guys

Mitch

I've fixed this. I tried all sorts of glue and made a bloody mess.
I ended up getting the entire seal, the felt is not a seperate part.
Part for passenger side '1J4 867 365B FKL' last 3 letters specify the colour.
Once replaced you really see how dirty the headliner is.

Dealer pricing in 2008 was $120 for the driver's side, and in 2013 passenger side $174.
Both rears are a bit funny but I'll leave them be.

previous owner tried to re-glue the D/side front on mine, it still falls away near the fuse box and as an added bonuss theres glue marks along the top of the felt tubing ...

cant wait to replace it, but many more $$ needed elsewhere first.

whilst we talk interiors, the LHS of my stereo surround where the faux wood clips in, the clips have broken away (another common VW thing)... is there a fix people have worked out for this?

New radio cage or glue. The sidebpiecs is metal the cage plastic. The plastic is what breaks.

yea. im aware of the parts and what was broken... was hoping someone had come up with something better than glue.. oh well.

new cage is a bit excessive.
