As my Rok still has 2 years of warranty remaining I haven't made a start yet but I have been measuring up the R50 V10 from the Touareg and it looks like it will fit with a little work here and there. Next project is finding a half cut with the dash ECM and harness of a "50" and start mapping the pro's versus cons. This ute was made for a big V10 (or new V8) with a big set of open pipes on it. Anyone seen it done anywhere in europe or am I about to go on a quest to break new ground?

I haven't got a clue, but if I lie and say this sounds easy can you just run with it.

I MUST SEE this outcome.. :)

I'd rather sell and buy a new V6 TDI when it becomes available. Just for the reliabilty sake. :)

Will it be able to be engineered? Does the V10 pass the emission tests that the current Amarok has to?

That would be an awesome project for sure (my brain melts when I consider funding it though but hey, where theres a will...)

ANY toureg v10 tdi would be awesome, I guess the bonus of the r50 donor might be the massive brakes etc.

I wouldnt be surprised if this has been done before (particularly somewhere like the netherlands, sweden etc - they seem to have a penchant for insane tdi projects over there) but i've no doubt you would have the honours this side of the equator :-)

Not a big fan of the v10, the v6 and v8 tdi are better motors.
A sales manager at VW i spoke to a while back said he had heard rumours of VW R+D putting a V10 in 'rok , and they were doing sales/cost analysis for the v6 in out market.

If it's not fast enough when you have done it, look me up ;)
