I have sorted a group buy for some Vibratechnics Uprated Engine Mounts to fit the following
Polo 9n
Polo 9n3
Polo 6R
1.8T and 1.4 TSI.They are also compatible with the DSG gearbox.

There are 2 options which both include a 20% discount off the retail cost.

Drivers side and passenger side mounts £234.24 + postage
or all 3 mounts Drivers side, passenger side and bottom torque arm/dog mount £324.48 + postage

I spoke to VT direct and as AKS Tuning had just sorted a group buy we had to use them as VT wouldn't do a separate one for me.

I will contact AKS when I have a moment and find out about the VAT question.
Each person will have to contact AKS direct to order so that should sort the shipping and customs questions?

If everyone is placing their own order with aks direct then that really answers both questions; purchases outside of uk = no vat.

Put me down for all 3 mounts. RRP for the 3 is 338 GBP + postage according to the web site.

If anyone else is thinking about it do it, the oem ones on my previous Polo 9N disintegrated and IMO are worth replacing before they go.

I just checked parcel to go with parcel dimensions 10"x10"x10" weighing 10kg and found it for £67.70 on a 5 day delivery.

RRP ex vat for all 3 is 338 (118/126/94), - 20%, 270.40 + 80 = 350.40 GBP

Are the standard engine mounts likely to need replacing in the next few years anyway?

I had to replace the top 2 engine mounts on my previous 03 9N 1.4L. I don't remember the timeframe for failure but one went then not long after I had that one fixed the other went as well. Cause a decent vibration through the car when they let go.

Replacing the engine mounts on my GTI has been one of my top priorities since picking it up in Nov last year. If the GTI mounts are anything like the 9N 1.4L mounts then IMO they are worth replacing with something better than OEM.

They now offer 2 types. Race and fast road.
I have been told the fast road ones don't produce much vibration but there will be some.

Also I have just asked about the shipping and I think the cheapest way would be ship all the kits to one person then distribute from Oz?
He is finding out the weights so I can look into cheaper options if you guys don't want them shipped to 1 person.
Worst case it's £80 per man.

Unfortunately not. AKS are buying in bulk from VT so has to be dealt with via the UK branch.

All 3 via AUS = 627 AUD
All 3 via UK = 350.40 GBP (to be confirmed by 9n3 Turbo) which is approx 520 AUD

The prices on the VT website are all ex VAT so not sure what you mean; but your total lines up with mine so it's all good.

Even at 80 GBP for postage this still represents a good saving. You don't want to be too cheap on the postage, I'd rather get them and get them in one piece than take the cheapest option and get what you pay for if you know what I mean.

I understand what you're saying but it's the time you are paying for not the quality of delivery. If you go registered post you still get a tracking number and insurance on the package. It just takes longer twice as long to arrive.

If you buy as many parts for OS as I do 30-40 pound difference per item adds up very quickly over a year so it never hurts to ask.

I've had cheap freight arrive flawlessly and couriered coilovers arrive with a bent strut poking out the box.

Unless its with UPS or someone who uses their own courier service, end to end, seems to be luck.

I would hope that engine mounts can survive some chucking.

Being based here in the UK Ill let one of the other guys comment on cost to fit although they aren't hard to fit.

But yes they certainly will stop engine movement which is great as there's lots of movement in stock form.

That's equivalent to the lower VT mount. Only it just replaces the factory rubber insert whereas the other is a replacement for the entire mount.

VT didn't have all the sets ready so are currently finishing up producing everything.

VT have told Alex he should receive all sets by mid next week and Alex can get them out to us by the end of next week.

Just spoken to Alex.

He has received the 5 kits for all 3 mounts.
He will be receiving the kits for the 2 top mounts tomorrow (Thursday).

UK buyers should have there mounts by Friday or Monday very latest.

Oz buyers not sure what you have arranged with Alex re delivery but at least you're aware when the mounts will be in his hands.

Haven't heard from Alex yet, I assume he was going to send all the Aus orders out individually, that's how he is sending mine. He said he would deduct the postage once he had an accurate cost, i.e., when the mounts were in and he knew the weight. I assume he's waiting for all of them to come in before sorting this out.

So currently fitting the left side gearbox mount and it has a spacer welded on only one side where the mount bolts to the chassis rail from the side. This is causing the hole that's on the top near all the cabling not to line up.

And from the photo on the Vibra-Technics site there is no spacer welded to the mount there??

Ok had a look at Juniors pics and it has the spacer so had another go. The order I ended up doing up the bolts is put the two side bolts through the chassis first but don't do them up, then do up the top one fully, then the one closest to the front (the one with the spacer) then the one closest to the fire wall (as you do this up it will slowly mate up with the chassis and create an angle for the battery tray bolts). All done and to my surprise not a nut was threaded :cookie:

hey guys is there much point in going to uprated engine mounts? I'm nearly at 140k and I'm starting to notice the knocks associated with stuffed mounts - I'm going to replace all 3, but I'm thinking of just going OEM again and doing it as maintenance rather than an upgrade. I can get 3 OEM mounts for 150 pounds, which would be about the price of 1 Vibratechnics mount!
