Anyone interested in helping code a MFSW upgrade in 2012 manual Octavia RS?

I'm in Melbourne eastern suburbs, appreciate anyone with the cable/software willing to lend a hand. Post here or PM if you're keen.

If you have the coding changes that need to be made, I am happy to meet up somewhere and give you a hand. I am, however, in Melbourne's west so....

Thanks for the offer, I can drive where ever not a problem BUT....I have no idea of the coding change required. Reading lots of threads but having never used or seen VCDS before not really sure of what is required.

Might be worthwhile putting the call out for someone with the MFSW to supply you with a copy of their coding. Or getting hold of the guys you bought the wheel and module from. Coding via VCDS could be check boxes, but could be a "soft" code i.e. a number designated. Either way, we take a copy of your original coding and if it doesn't work, we reinstate the original values.

Funny, I started the othwr mfsw thread with the exact question you have right now. Still havent order my wheel just yet, but car should be on Oz by the end of the month..

Just need to sell the A4 first.

I found this

Fitted MFSW to FL Vrs but can't get it to work (and now I dont have CC or a horn!) - Diagnostics & VCDS - BRISKODA.net - The Skoda Forum and Community (http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/245245-fitted-mfsw-to-fl-vrs-but-cant-get-it-to-work-and-now-i-dont-have-cc-or-a-horn/#entry2878231)

and also

VW Golf (1K) Steering Wheel - Ross-Tech Wiki (http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Skoda_Octavia_%281Z%29_Steering_Wheel#Coding)

I have never seen a VCDS either. I will probably get Auto Union Deutch to fit and code mine when it arrives, and no doubt will be looking at the same info.

Good luck. I am waiting to hear how it turns out.

Thanks for the hints, I have started a thread on Briskoda asking for the same info. More guys over there seem to do the upgrade compared to Aus. I'm pretty sure the later steering modules are long coded (according to Ross Tech wiki anyway). I've seen some screen shots:

(from tiguan but should be the same)

Also got coding of manual vrs with MFSW (but no bluetooth)
