A) Until the machine says it's finished. From about 20 minutes upward.

B) Who knows? Think on it...

U might need to take it outside and let it find where it is.

What firmware did you update FROM

What did you update TO

How long did you wait for it to load

Mine took nearly an hour and it wont let you eject it unless its finished

If you watch the screen it tells you what its doing

IF you dont know what you are doing perhaps get someone who does to do it for you

If you answer the above questions you may get more informative help otherwise its like doing brain surgery with a blindfold and over the phone if you get what I mean

To update maps, turn the RNS on (don't turn ignition on — IIRC, leave the key out), insert the DVD and just wait 'til it finishes.

If your first install didn't take, moving the car outside won't help — try the install again.

Updating maps can be done with keys in/out, driving or parked up. Loading takes around 20 minutes. RNS needs to be reset < > + info after doing map upgrade, just to settle it all down and freshen up it's 'cache'.

Usually, the Nav component will take a short period of time to get it's first satellite lock-on. After that, it is generally quite quick.

Seems it did !!!!!! Maybe

Had same problem on mine and after 20mins outside the maps appeared However it had gone through the installation

It may pay the OP to check which version of maps are actually in it because it may well be the old version if as he said it didnt load the disc.
It could be it relocated itself and just loaded the old map when it set its location. May pay to reload the disc and see what happens.

Then do the reset as in the post previous
