Hi Fellas, just finished a 2.5" stainless exhaust on the Polo... sounds really nice but i'm going to assume these things don't really like that much change in flow without some remapping.
Next question: who is doing custom re-flashes for these things in Sydney? Not stock load in jobs that have been made somewhere else, but actual real time dyno tested runs with a wideband up its tail ?

No point in spending money on a dyno tune with just an exhaust. IMO You need a downpipe at least before that would be worthwhile. Recode would be on the list of people to call.
Bear in mind a Phase 1 from me is $649 and a Phase 2 is $749.

Thanks Gavin, it's 2.5" right from the back of the turbo, high flow cat, center resonator and rear muffer - all mandrel bends.
Hard to explain this kind of thing but there's an obvious boost spike/surge at around 2.2krpm with the new exhaust - where it felt like full spool with the stock muffler, so i'd say its not quite coping.
That said its only been on there a few days and i've yet to get a boost gauge on it to get a closer look at whats going on.
edit: still researching, but future mods hoping to be be frankenturbo, cams and intake - plan is to get a tuner on board early on, cost not a huge issue if its done right.

Speak to recode (parso_rex), nice guy, well regarded.
If you are looking at a specific snail, maybe look at the brands who are doing kits. A few Polo turbo upgrades going on, have a read.
Otherwise CC from Gav is probably the strongest (as per dyno results) and also happens to be well priced and Gav is not only a strong forum tech presence, but also a nice guy and now a Polo convert.
IMO, until you have a bigger turbo, not much point in custom (Recode has advised me the same)

Thanks Clint ;)
Do some research on cams, most folk would say not to bother.
The standard tune can't handle the downpipe, I ran mine like that for a day or so the boost swung all over the place with the standard exhaust.. The AMD stage 1 was crap too. You need a Stage 2 tune and you'll be doing it all over again if you then fit a Frankenturbo.
You need to make a decision now or it'll cost you.
