Hello all!
I have just bought an 08 R36 Passat and still learning so much about it. I came from a B5 Audi A4 and this has so much more fruit than the Audi.
Already i am trying to see what i can do and add to it, im trying to get my head around upgrading my RNS510 but have hardware version 1T0 035 680A HW04 1020 so i cant tell what version i can bump it up to and where i find the maps to reload back on?
I have also read about taking out the center muffler and getting a slightly sportier sound from her.
Also been trying to toss up between finding a satin black front grill or vinyl wrapping the stock silver one and having the rims powdercoated gunmetal grey.
I dont seem to see many people with many mods to theirs?
Would love to hear some local R36 ideas and info over here!

Welcome mate,
the R36 is a fine car before any mods....enjoy!

welcome aboard basic.
Modding an normally aspirated engine won't deliver as much as a turbo which is unfortunate, for example an exhaust and remap might get you another 20-30kW.
Before playing with your exhaust do lots of research, especially on youtube as what sounds good to one person might not appeal to you.

Welcome mate. Which body type of the R36 did you get? Sedan or Wagon. At the moment I am trying to convince a mate of mine to buy one as they are such an awesome car.
I know quite a few people who have mod their R36 Wagons and Sedans, so if your interested I will link you some photos and build threads.
Got any photos handy?

Thanks, I got the Sedan. It does look like quite the sleeper which is good as I have enough troubles with my motorbike.
Yeah I guess the other issue is there doesnt seem to be a lot of support for these in Perth, mainly for Golfs instead.
I just managed to do the RNS510 firmware and maps upgrade from the Audio thread and that has worked a dream. My K&N just arrived from the US and ill pop that in. Next I think will be the exhaust suitcase delete, i might need to listen to some more videos but worst case ill get a new resonator put in if its too rough sounding. I wouldnt mind getting the ECU flashed sometime but I think that will wait till tax return time :)

It was a ex lease car at my work and so I knew the owner before (who looks after his cars) and also that being on a lease it has a full service history. Managed to get it for what the business was going to trade it in for, a cool 25k :D

You should be laughing at that price man, you picked it up for next to nothing IMO.
Keen to see some progressing pictures and reviews of your mods.
