Hey all, I'm after some advise on getting new keys cut.

My original keys work fine but they look pretty grubby, and the keyring loop has broken off both of them.

New cases don't cost many coins on ebay. I assume it's as easy as taking the chipboard out of the old key and putting it in the new one? The blades are blank so I'll need to get them cut, can a regular locksmith cut them for me?

Thanks for the help,
Don.

You will have to get an automotive locksmith as the blades that require a cut in the middle can't be done at a regular locksmith.
I paid $40 to get my surf-key cut early this year.

You can easily remove the key blade from your old key ,just knock out the pin and place it in the new housing .

Thanks guys, very helpful :)

PS: I had no idea what a surf-key was so I googled it. What an awesome idea!

Hi
You can cut your new key at almost all key cutting shops.
I cut my at Mt Gravatt and cost me around $20-$25 - working perfect.
If you need more info PM me.
