copperhead, it is a strange color, I see more metallic grey than beige !

Did you do any serious or semi serious offroading with the Yeti?

I've come to the conclusion after Saturdays drive up the mountains that the Yeti will only be doing firetrails and places where I took my previously owned Subaru Forester. Sure its capable with decent ride height, underbody protection and low down torque, but I can't see it doing any serious offroad work.

Previously I've owned and had for a work vehicle full ladder frame 4x4s (Rocky, Hilux and LC100), I would prefer steel rims, steel plate underbody protection and a bit more ground clearance to do serious offroading.

Besides, I think since I've only had her for 3weeks - i'm treating her with a lot of TLC at the moment ! :)

I'm also not too confident with the 225/50R17 size tyres. I think i'll be getting at 60 aspect-ratio tyres for off-road work, the low-profile doesn't have enough side wall and i'm worried either a tyre blowout or buckled rim will occur.

Also good to mention that the dust-sealing has passed the grade !

It was hot and dusty on those Blue Mountains fire trails, hardly no dust got into the car - Skoda have done very well !!
(but then again I did have the aircon on to maintain that internal air pressure.)

Also, those who know the corrugated surfaces typical of Blue Mountains fire trails, again top marks to Skoda, no internal rattles and the suspension took the bumps with ease ! I do believe that the suspension is a little on the stiff side, however it still maintains its pose on fast uneven ground, but I think this also has to do with the low-profile tyres.

My mate with the FJ Cruiser was impressed how it took steep hills like a sports car ! (in his words)
