Been deliberating getting my ecu remapped to provide 195 hp, 300 Nm torque.

Just wondering if anyone in here has done this and had any recommendations.

Lots of folk have their cars flashed, there's plenty of tuning companies to pick from.

Custom-Code, DNA tuning, GIAC, Revo, Superchips, Viezu not counting all the independent ones.

Are you in Trinidad?

Yep I'm in Trinidad. A company called Protune has offered a custom tune for me.

Hopefully I won't have to remove my ecu in the process.

Depends on the process of Protune. Some here in Australia prefer to flash the chip direct even though they have the capability to go through the port. I'd say this is more likely if Protune cater for lots more than just VWs.

Protune just messaged to say they can't flash thru the port on 2009+ VW due to chip lockout. Only way would be to remove ECU and ship to UK.

This is true of most ECUs now. Bad luck mate.

Gavin my only options seems to be TMC TUNING BOX. Ever heard of it?

Never heard of them mate. I'd look at other options for getting a proper tune.

I've done a stage 1 tune up
To 203hp 317nm of torque with a local superchips
Dealer here at WA. Same issue with you. All the later model VW's have ECU's which are not tuner friendly. Therefore they had to manually remove my ECU and attach to nodes to directly input the tuning data onto my ecu. The result was just amazing! Instant golf gti stock.
