Hello all.
Some may remember I put the 1.8L Turbo out of a MK4 GTI in my Bora.
Well the engine isn't in the car anymore and needs to go.
The engine does need some work. I was driving when it overheated (Cracked radiator was the cause) and the waffle plate in the sump melted and got sucked up the oil pickup. The oil pump had plastic in it and seized causing it to snap the sprocket and stop pumping oil. This then caused issues which lead to poor lubrication. All this happened in a matter of no time at all and the engine has been started once since to make sure it isn't locked or anything. It only ran for perhaps 5-10 seconds before I shut it off.
The oil pump is no go, so a replacement will be needed.
From memory, cyl no.4 was down on compression but I'd presume it's a good idea to replace all the rings after such incident.
Everything else seems to be fine.
The engine came from a written of 2001 Golf in Melbourne, I have the REVs check from when I purchased it to make sure it wasn't stolen. The car suffered a Side collision bending the B piller so no damage in the engine bay area.
The engine has around 100,000km on it, can't quite remember the exact number but it's fairly low.
Everything is included in the sale.
The engine,
5 speed manual gearbox.
Cluster.
Ignition.
Valet Key (Only key I received)
Full wiring loom.
ECU.
CV joints.
Also includes Pallet for easy shipping. I have a depot close to me which I can help organise shipping through. They were the cheapest place I could find when shipping the engine recently and they operate through Mainfrieght.
All that is needed for it to work.
If you are planning on putting it into a Bora I can help out and tell you what actually needs to be done.
I can't think of anything else that needs to be put down however please feel free to ask questions.
Price: $600
Location: Gold Coast, Queesnland.
Willing to ship.
Here is a picture with my ugly mug in it.
