I have been approached to official on the stage of Targa that goes past my house. I am not making a decision until I hear whether anyone is interested in doing a Targa GTG on the Friday 28th April or not.

If not, I am keen to do a GTG on the Saturday.

Let me know soon, need to advise my intention to Targa tomorrow night.

How about a convoy to the Ross Stage! Leave early Saturday morning, watch Ross stage, have lunch and return?

Saturday cruise may be better, I have decided to volunteer on the Lower Longley stage on Friday.

Let's say Saturday to town stage at Ross is a goer?

Saturday is a NO GO for me. I forgot that school soccer starts this weekend and I am coaching under 6's this winter...

Thursday at Grass Tree Hill though...

I am doing time-keeping at the start of the Longley stage on Friday!

Can't make it guys. Delegation form Korea and Thailand visiting the farm With a bit of luck we'll earn some export $$$s and I'll get a new Golf :D (or maybe a Polo...They're growing on me!) If my young bloke isn't working I'll send him down in a diesel to help represent the forum.

Thats a shame foolio. A few fellas will be heading out on Friday with there "Golfs" and also on Saturday morning in there "golfs" to catch a bit of Targa and a few laughs. The only thing is on Saturday morning, the stage commander owns and operates from a bay kombi, and you would be required to drive past it, its air cooled and that might get frowned at. But it will be a fun morning none the less.

Colebrook roadclosure is bloody early! H2hoo & I have to be there at bout 5.53 I think! Bloody cold & bloody freezing!!!(and dark too at that time ) Take waterproof boots too cause the long grass is usually sopping wet. (geez! I'm talking meself out of it!) Can be a good stage tho. Cant stay with your car tho.
el foolio, did you get your o'heating sorted?

H2Hoo
22-04-2006, 08:52 PM
Your making Colebrook sound like a wet cold hell hole mk5gti. We must be mad mate! I know we have been well wet in the past and cold. A thermos could be the go this year, and we always have a good time. The drive to Ross stage is a bit of a ****ter, and its even colder up there usually. Once your knackers have frozen off at Ross, the fog rolls in and you get colder.

You are supposed to tell the tourists the truth now, warm and sunny this time of year. Please come again next year. :D

Colebrook will be fine. Have to work on that stage anyway. Wanted to head up to the Cethana stage this year after it but got to head home straight after stage finish to clean GTI to do wedding car duties at 1.45pm. Oh, and yes, Thermos & thermals will be the go h2hoo. Maybe we could do a Tunnack stage next year? 5 degrees colder there isnt it? You've been there this week, do tell.

I usually go to Cygnet stage, Trying to get to Ross this year as it is run in reverse, so the tight left hander will be a tight off camber right drop off. :D

Yeah, i got the program in the trading post. I usually head to the domain stage on saturday, theres a few good corners there, and the spectators area is big and a has a great view. Im really keen to head to symmons plains also. I want to see the Ross reveresed too wolfsburg, might see you there.

Hi. You wont get into the Colebrook stage till the last car has gone thru. Likewise you wont get to Ross if you go to colebrook.

el_foolio
24-04-2006, 07:46 PM
true, only just noticed the road closure times. Might skip Colebrook and go straight from the Hobart stage to Ross, then Symmons Plains. I reckon i could make Ross by 8:05 if i left The Hobart stage slightly early, even if i have to park outside Ross and walk in.

Thats a better idea. Not sure how much of Symmons you'll see but have a great day!

Friday was even better, loads of action and plenty of fast cars with plenty of air! and plenty on two wheels with loads of sparks and bouncing around.
gti mk5 has done my windscreen in, but thats what happens when hooning around after Targa! What a day! :P

Yeah! We had a great Targa week. Georgetown was brilliant, as was Grasstree hill, Longley & colebrook. Got below 2 gegrees as the sun was coming up at Colebrook but was dressed for the occasion. Saw a couple of watercooled blokes friday, one in his Hillman (eh Mikinoz!!!) and polo gti going the wrong way after the stage was finished? Sorry bout the chipped screen H2hoo when we were pushing the STi. Was targa gravel on the road. Glad we werent working up the domain yesterday where the spectators were hit. :D :o
