well, after some terrible events in my life (see below) i have suddenly found alot more time to focus on my mk1 and my newly acquired Amarok rally support vehicle. for thos squeamish don't scroll down.

Moron in a busted arse hyundai getz tried to cross 2 lanes of traffic without looking first. Not much you can really do when someone blessed for natural selection pulls out 5m in front of you at 60km/h

That's so sad. Did you get his rego or did he make a runner?

Very sad :(

But I don't know what to look for in the underbody shot.

On the (very small) upside, it's removed a Getz from the road.

Thats not cool. Very nice looking Porsche. Hyundai drivers drive like theyre back in Korea (sorry if people on here drive one).
Your car can still be fixed but im sorry to say it might be rather expensive.

Not nice.

The main thing is that you are alright.

That's the second nice 911 that I know has died in the last few weeks. :(

Friend of the family had a bad weekend at the Shannons Phillip Island Classic.

This was the end result. Thankfully he suffered only minor injuries.

Geez mate one of the greats, really sorry to see that.
If that has copped that they must have picked the hyundai up with a brush and shovel??

she's well dead, the whole front end would require cutting and welding a new front on and if the numbers don't match then she is worth nothing. Was such a great car, immaculate and damn did it go with all the engine mods. Well time to look for another one........once the wrist mends from breaking the steering wheel

Luke are you going to buy it from the wreckers and part out the gearbox and engine? You had the G50 in it right? Any Limited slip diff and was it running the 3.2 or 3.6?

Kinda thinking about maybe changing to a G50 in mine when we do some upgrades we were talking about the other day so might be interested then in the gearbox.

Cheers Al

At least you didn't suffer any major injuries Luke, and you have a new toy to play with ;)

But I don't know what to look for in the underbody shot.

Umm I would assume the fact that it's buckled and no longer flat!

Yeah underbody shot shows the entire front is bent down so would definately need a front cut. The Amarok is fun but not fun enough to warrant not getting another Porsche :-D

Sorry about the news Volksee. I feel your pain mate. I'm new to the world of Porsche ownership and I completely agree with you about the fun factor. There's definately something special about Porsche's regardless of new or old. Hope you get yourself into another Porsche very soon. Wishing you happy shopping mate. I'm already eyeing on a 911 already.

Thankfully not. The red 911 that rolled at Phillip Island is currently being resurrected as a road car.

I had a chat to the owner while detailing one of his other Porsches and was surprised when he said he's bringing it back to life. All of its racing mechanicals where used to build another race car from a spare shell he had.
