Hi all,
Owner of new gtd, silver reflex, 18 inch Vancouvers. Looking at oettinger tune. Love my long k's on country roads. Last work car was a gti, but really loved the diesel...just had to have it.
Anyone with feedback on the results of a 1700$ oettinger tune?
Off on a round trip in the new gtd from bne to Hobart, just for kicks
Cheers,
Pete

Ooetinger isn't bad.
Have you looked into viezu as they do a motorsport tune and a fuel economy tune as well.
Also, Greg (Greg Roles on our forum here) is their local man.

Welcome Pete!
Loads of info in the Tuning and Performance (inc ECU upgrades) (http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/forums/f20/) section on tunes for the GTD.
Oettinger do get a good rap for their diesel tunes. The national distributor for Oettinger (and APR), Guy Harding, is on these forums (Guy_H (http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/forums/members/guy_h/)).

Thanks for the advice guys. I had a look at the Viezu but couldn't seem to locate their GTD spec. I have a had chat to Guy and he is very informative on the OET tune, however it sits on the high end of price compared to the other tunes (1200 for a GTI) so I'm happy to wait a bit and see what else is about. On the bummer some a**hole scratched my bonnett at Somerset dam (deliberately at that)...if I didn't know better I'd say a stanley knife was used. Haters are germs! Now to find a repairer....

Sorry all the various cars are hard to find, Viezu HQ, Viezu Aust and even I am all in the process of major website makeovers, but I have had the GTD tune up for about a week now, google must not have munched it as yet.
MKVI 6 VW Golf GTD TDI (http://www.carformance.com.au/car-sorter/s-w/volkswagen/golf/golf-gtd-viezu-ecu-tune.html)
Viezu offer a tune for the GTD, insured, with free retweak rewrites, but unfortunately as all the diesels including the GTD since MK6 are antitune, it's a ECU out affair, you can't use any of the handheld or OBD flash tuners that I am aware of.
As I have a MKV GT TDI which apart from common rail is basically the same, and have a motorsport tune on it, I can say that this level of tune is just insane fun. I will be putting it on the dyno shortly, and that's with a stock DPF exhaust, so it will be close to what's possible with most of the 125kw's, even though I have a very modified intake, the DPF is still the limiting factor.
The GTD tune is $1195 installed, and you are welcome to try mine anytime, although it's a manual, so you need to be able to use your left foot too.:P
