I am considering another 4wd VW to the stable and replace the Toyota Landcruiser.

What sort of fuel economy do the diesel Amaroks return?

I dont want any guessed figures 400km to 1/2 tank, only actual figures.

My cruiser returns 11ltr 100km to 15 ltr 100km.

Tiguan about 7-8 ltr per 100km.

Thanks.

I won't be guessing, it definitely be better than any Japanese diesel 4x4. The official figures from VW are quite accurate. I always get better than whatever they advertise even without trying for the good fuel economy. Since I didn't buy the Amarok yet, I can't tell you exactly, but I will also be interested what others get (not what they see on the trip computer, that's not very accurate). :)

The official urban-cycle figure for your Tiguan is 7.1 l/100km. For the Amarok, it ranges between 9.2 - 9.7 l/100km depending on the variant.

You said you get around 7.0 - 8.0 l/100km in your Tiguan, so based on those conditions and your driving style, you should expect to get around 9.1 - 10.9 l/100km in the Amarok (again, depending on the variant).

I have been getting around 880-890km per tank out of my Amarok Ultimate.

I guess that is around 8.8ltrs per 100km. My car has alot of highway work.

I was only getting 600km out of my previous 2008 hilux SR , admittedly the Hilux had a Auto transmission. The hilux had the 3ltr turbo diesel motor as well.

Why guess when you have an average fuel consumption displayed on the MFD?

As the OP said, yyykm from a tank means nothing if car a has a 55L tank & car b has a 110L tank & one of them has an inaccurate fuel gauge (like still has 20L when showing empty.... Hello Subaru)

Well my Amarok has an 80 liter fuel tank and after I had completed the 890 km i refilled the car up and put 82 litres of diesel back in the car.The fuel gauge was showing 5km left on the display. Not a wise move to run a diesel dry so that is all I got. Anyone else with an Amarok getting near or better than that?

I calculated for you. Your fuel consumption is 9.21L/100km. The servos pump could be out of the calibration, which happens very often. I buy the fuel where I know they don't cheat as much. I've put once 23L into 20L jerycan.
