yup! been eyeing this car off for at least 4 years! trying to convince the owner to sell it for soooo long and poor preeny was in the middle of it all! haha but its finally mine i cant wait to get it home!!

this will be a long term, every nut and bolt, bare metal, fully detailed project.
i dont have a budget and i dont have specific ideas in mind as yet, but i will be doing things alot more different compared to my wabit project.

ol mate from wolfsburg automotive had a pair of these in his driveway last time i looked, if you need a spare shell and don't mind dealing with the **** then he could be worth a call.

looks mint, good luck with it dude.

WABIT

as far as i know this thing is immaculate! only issue with the car is interior is screwed due to bush sun killing it, and in his recent old age, the owner ran the front guard up against something which can easily be repaired :) but ya never know, might have to give wolfsburg a call some day!

Pretty tidy car. Not a "Minter", but definitely a good base. And being from Orange pretty much it's whole life, it's dry as a bone.

**** YEAH!!! going to pick it up from preens house next weekend!! big thank you to chris for helping me to pick up the car from the original owner last week, thanks buddy :)

for some reason i originally thought this car had a tan colored interior but it actually has black vinyl..... which works out for me because i recently bought a whole black vinyl interior from a porsche 924, most enthusiasts might know them as "Tombstone" seats

before the restoration it will be airbagged with the porsche seats, car will get a general tidy up and service and some nice wheels :)

cant wait for next weekend!!!!

modena's look tits IMO, although knowing you, you'll come up with some wicked

WABIT
05-06-2012, 11:44 PM
im thinking so too! although having a lot of aircooled friends in your ear about fuchs n seeeatch i still dont know...

ill rebuild the modenas to how they should look before i make up my mind.
will either be:
polished lips, bolts and center nut, white centers (like roof color) and candy red center cap
or
fully polished to the SH*T!..... EVERYTHING!.... POLISHED!!

Dom

Ben J

I prefer the modenas too, theyre pretty much my dream wheels. I vote painted over completely polished, although either would be sweet

Yup i vote modenas too. 17's look too big, like tractor wheels!
White to match roof will looks teats :)

WABIT
15-06-2012, 12:59 PM
wasnt sure on what color to paint the wheels, but ive done the center nut raw alloy and the center caps gloss red.

thinking of color coding the wheel centers white like the roof, but ill decide that when the car is bagged and the wheels are fitted

i think he plans on using it after engine and gearbox conversion,so it wont be a standard Fox gearbox then.

yup, the shifter will be used when the cable gearbox out of the A4 will be fitted..... a very difficult challenge in itself haha!

lol once my air struts arrive, ill fit them and cut the bump stop mount and take a pic :)

paint is getting done in 3 weeks! hanging!!!!!! choosing the right color ratio's on thrusday as the color chips will be ready then :)

have to pick up my porsche interior and send it to the trimmer's, as well as headliner, door cards, dash and carpet....

window rubbers and door frame rubbers will be getting sorted while its getting painted.

still unsure on when the air bags will be ready

also changed the direction of how the modenas will look.... lets just say itll be a MUCH MUCH more expensive look..... FML

EDIT: ohh yeah and the twin 40mm side drafts will be running tomorrow :D

cheers for the offer with wiring! not many people offer their skills straight up! so thank you for that mate :) im sure ill be posting something up here one day regarding a wiring question. haha! ill be installing an aftermarket Haltech ECU, ive kept the standard ecu and wiring from the donor car which will be very handy, ive also used a holden V8 throttle body so some plugs and sensors on the motor are mix n matched already, i figure using stronger, more accessible/cheaper parts... itll make my life much easier later on :)
