Does anyone have any details as to the difference between euro and aus spec suspension on the scirocco R? I'm assuming there is a difference, as all the press pics have the car riding about 15mm lower than the aus spec cars

Thanks

It is just like looking at a Supermodel in a magazine... they just are not the same in real life.
Press pics are touched up or "enhanced"... it was the same with Golf R.

Hmm. Misleading advertising much?

Not really... it is more the "angle" than anything....
Here are some pics from Euro cars to show they are the same as we get....

Plus original advertising pic from one of VWA's e-mails...

The advertising pic is either photoshopped or has been physically lowered by about 35mm.

Ill post some comparison pics of the H&R lowered springs over the weekend compared to the stock height of our cars.

Langers: In regards to suspension specs, they are identical.

While there may well be some "license" in the advertising pics I doubt it would be dropped that amount... it is more to do with the angle and that the front wheels are turned slightly... this gives the impression of it being lower by judging tyre to wheel arch gaps.

The spoiler looks to be a similar sort of height from the ground as the standard pics.
Not that it matters much... we get what we get and it still looks pretty damned good...

Seriously... the first one isn't even a picture... it is an artists impression there is so much work on all of those that anyone who takes them as a gospel representation of the actual product should give up.

It actually looks stretched as well so are we going to complain that the standard Scirocco isn't long enough.

I noticed that you left out my quoted part about there being some "license" in advertising material...

The actual question was answered previously... the suspension is identical to Euro suspension.

I snipped my quote to short, it should have had the part about 'doubt it would be dropped that much'. Thats the part that I was actually replying to.. lol

And yes the question has been answered :P

You're right. The proportion on the RB artists impression is quite misleading. Short nose long tail.

Somehow I don't think we could convince the ACCC it was deceptive or misleading!
