Fading edges on MFD (half height)

Does anyone else get this?
It seems to be more predominant on hot days, as you can see temp, so I'm presuming
it's heat related.
One day it switched off completely and didn't come back until the next day.
Is it going to die on me or is this just a common thing?

mines been doing this for ages
mine an 05 golf half mfd also.
i agree that its heat related.

Same here, even in winter if direct sunlight hits the dash...
