I have a 2008 R32 DSG up for my 60k service ....just want to know if these prices are about right as it's a big service in Sydney?
60k service with DSG service about - $1400 (chatswood VW dealer wanted $2100 for this alone...)
Also saying I will need front pads and most likely new rotors - $1000 (normally need new rotors this soon?)
So all up like $2400 .... pretty normal? :)

If the rotors have been machined once already then you might need new rotors as they would likely be below minimum thickness.
Get the car serviced at a VW dealer, but I'd be looking elsewhere for the brakes.
The $1000 for front rotors/pads sounds like they are OEM parts, which cost the earth. There are other (good) alternatives for a lot less.

Didnt he leave?
Your not going to have a huge difference in price between most workshops. If there is you need to start questioning if they are actually doing everything on the checklist.

I just done the 30000km service and was quoted for the DSG alone being $499 at Denlo Parramatta. I have done that yet but will do so in one month time.

DSG service is every 60,000 KM and from my recollection is not time dependent, why would you service the DSG at 30,000KM?

As per Denlo they stated that the time frame of 4 years and/or 60000km what ever comes first. With my R32 being 4 years this Janurary then it would be advisable.

Can anyone confirm the number for Camden GTI? The one I found online doesn't seem to get anyone answer..
With the DSG service, I've rang a few dealers and its roughly at the $500 mark. VW village have quoted me $380
Also quoted $850 for a timing belt change on my GTI. Anyone had this done for cheaper?
