Hey guys...maybe a daft question, but one of my taillight bulbs has gone, and I wanted to check if I could go to repco and get a standard replacement bulb, or if I had to get some fancy long life one from vw...

Repco will definitely have them. I got the following Philips bulbs from Autobarn and cost me $4.99.. they've been in my car for about 1.5 years now with no issues.

Hrm, you definitely changed the correct bulb? lol i know that sounds stupid, but there are a few different bulbs in the tail lights. Or maybe you have a dodgy fuse?

Sorted it....brake reverse bulb needed replacing too...
Also, in a supreme annoyance, I managed to drop one of the nuts holding the light frame behind the carpet...
