Just had my Polo GTI down at Barloworld for the coilpack recall
I also noticed another 97W5. Any one know what that one is?

Just picking up some parts and got them to check if mine was affected by the coilpack recall.
My coilpacks are all good, but the 97W5 campaign is to check for faulty rear airbag electrics, which I need to get checked out.

I got a letter in the mail yesterday, advising to book in to have a pin in the wiring harness to the rear airbags fixed...

Get them to have a look near the TX valve... Mine leaked there in the first week I had the car. The problem turned out to be a crushed seal caused when the car was built. As soon as pressure built up, it leaked past the seal. The dye won't be picked up, but the sniffer will. Unfortunately, this is a dash out fix.

Yup, my 2008 9N3 needs the airbag fix. I didn't actually get a letter about it, but the person whom I bought it from 6 months ago did. better late then never to update my details with VW.

Is there anywhere that lists which models/years that these Service Campaigns apply to? Or it is a matter of checking with a service centre directly?

A google search (definitive I know!) turned up the following:
In a report filed with the Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Ministry, the wholly owned subsidiary of Volkswagen AG said the Polo models in question were manufactured between August 2004 and August 2009 and include 1.4-liter and 1.8-liter engine versions.
This would include mine, guess I'll get them to check it out when the Golf gets its next service shortly.

I received the letter last week. Won't be taking it to liverpool that's for sure. Anyone had positive warranty experiences with vw five dock?
I rang up Barloworld (Five Dock) and you have to wait an hour.
From anyone who has done it before, did you wait an hour at the dealership or did you have to drop it off and they fixed it when they fixed it?

I got mine done at Barloworld Mascot. Left it for the day. They have a shuttle bus in/out of the CBD

Any reason why you aren't going to Liverpool?
I'm booked in with them tomorrow. It's the closest and most convenient to me. Surely they can't stuff this up!? I hope...

Its between 06-09 model polo (pretty sure thats the years). And its to check 2 pins in the airbag plug are around the correct way, as it may lead to airbag later deployment then intended.

Either it takes 2 and 3 times to fix it or I've had faulty parts fitted to replace a faulty part :/
I'm going to try a five dock dealership see how they go..

Had both my aircon and this campaign fixed at Camberwell vw in Doncaster today, awesome service
Thx Blitzen :) appears they checked the tx seal, no leaks there but they recon it was working ok?
Doesn't explain why it didn't work last week (admittedly I only tried it twice) and leaked gas into my cabin lol, strange...

Did they take long enough that you could sit and wait or... did you drop off?

Well, I dropped it off this morning at 8am, they handed me the keys back at 8.25am.
Quickest dealership work in history! Anyway can't fault them.
