found this yesterday, everyone else probably knows but it excited me

holding down the open door button on ( I'm thinking comfort line + gti only) on a mk5

winds all the windows down at the same time.

holding door lock winds them all back up!

anyone else know any other cool things you can do with a mk5

its available on all models using the remote. it also opens and closes the sunroof if you have one.
Cars with rain sensing wipers can have it set up so they will auto close when rain is detected.
our 2003 beetle had it with the key lock in the door... if you put the key in and turned it one way it opened all the windows - the other way closed them all.

how do you set up the rain sensing and closing of windows ?

you need VCDS (aka, an interface to view the vehicles electronics). The you need to change a setting or three which will activate that option.

Many forum members have Ross-Tech cables and similar devices that can do this. Search the forum .....the process is also referred to as "Vagcom"

Isn't it great when you discover something new that your car can do. It's like a gift that just keeps on giving :D

I use it frequently - getting out of the car and locking it, only to discover a window is still down... problem solvered!!!

It's great with kids who are always playing with windows ...

Plus great walking back to a car that's been in the hot sun, drop all the windows as you approach to get it cool ...

Love doing this, great fun. I even used it to throw my jacket into the car instead of opening the door. Lazy, I know.

Stop the interior rattling and creaking. Challenging task but apparently possible (for 5 mins). :D

You can also use VCDS to change the settings so that you dont have to keep holding the button to wind the windows up. One long press and they go all the way up.

This feature has been around for a long time ,my friends 1992 mk3 golf has it (it doesnt have a remote so use the key in the drivers door to bring the windows up or down).

Its great for a hot day, u can bring the windows down before jumping in.

MY08 upgrade and newer Golfs have cornering lights for the fogs or high beam.

'95 Vento does this with the key, and the old Audi with the remote, handy feature when its a billion degrees in QLD.
