So the Eos section doesn't get much action! haha

Since I'm new here I will post up some quick stuff about how I have come along.

Thought I might put up some info on my car since I am pretty bored.

When I bought it back in 2008.

http://www.vwwatercooled.com.au/forums/images/imported/2011/10/DSC00477-1.jpg

Then I went nuts. It might kinda make this a build thread haha:facepalm:

- 19" Audi V10 R8 Wheels
- Billet grill (hate it now)
- All interior and exterior lights to white LEDs
- Kicker 12" shallow sub + Kicker amp
- Badges
- plus more

hahahahah I have had the other grill for ages but haven't got around to it because of uni.
Notice: all my new photos are from the back. I keep the billet out of them lol im such an idiot for that.
But I learnt from my ways :P

Chipping it later on the this month. I know they respond better with a good intake so got the APR one before I do it.
Hopefully comes up good.

I'm going to paint it the same but will probably wrap it in satin black vinyl. I like that look at the moment.

Who are you going with for the chip?

Yeh Vinyl rap it, come resale time, just peel it off and hey presto, mint OEM paint underneath! :D

very nice. where's your spare tyre?

06-10-2011, 02:22 PM
Nice! Are you going to smooth off the number plate mount in that FK grill before you paint it? It can be done and looks so much better.

I want to go badgeless grill and colour coded but the only badgeless grill for the EOS is that FK with the stupid plate mount molded in to it. I have removed the plate mount from my stock grill, might even just get the holes filled in and painted.

Definitely a quiet corner of the forum here so it is good to see a new post! :)

GolfMan - Most likely DNA tuning. Spoke to John. Reasonable price so I will go with that.

Lams - It is in my garage. I have never used it and hope I never have to haha.

Rykby - I'm not to sure because I'm going to get the bigger euro plates so they will fit in nicely.
Still thinking about it but I will see what happens. Yeh the Eos section gets no love so thought I would kick off a kind of build thread? haha

Ahhh so much to do in the next couple months :)

What offset are your wheels? They really tuck under the guards quite easily. I got +45 on the Jetta and they are pretty much level with the body work

Pretty sure offset is the same as yours.
Saying that I have a MK5 Jetta aswell and I put my original 18s on that and they stick out a tiny bit at the front so maybe just the guards or something.

Update:

- Happened to cop some bag rub. Made a heap of noise. Put some grease on the control arm until I get my dad to do some cutting and welding for me to beef em up.
- Changing my brake pads. Probably paint my calipers gloss black or something while I am at it. I think red or blue will be a bit too much.
- Started boot setup. Going for something pretty cool looking. But il just put up a photo when its done.
- Changed the tyres the other day. Sits a bit lower now. The monstrous tyres I had on before weren't to pleasant on the inner guards haha.

winning!!! even without poke it looks so wide and fat without a roof line.

Car looked great at prinny that night i came and stuck my head in the window

if the wheels are the same specs id say its because your eos is lower, causing everything to camber/suck in.

Yeah - I didn't have fishing line so I used some dental floss haha. Still worked, but wasn't as easy as fishing line.

It was pretty much the first thing I did to my A3 - 8L A3T: 001 - Debadging (http://8la3t.blogspot.com/2011/08/001-debadging.html)

not to say anything negative about the photos in this thread, but dammit the car looks SOOOO much better in real life :D

damn nice interior, especially given that it's OEM, and the wheels are so sick, probably the best OEM+ jobbie i've seen to date.

Thanks dude. Yeh the handling is not bad. Firmer and less body roll when I ride low of course so I like it.
Il get the eyelids painted too and Il slap em on and take a pic soon to see what you reken.

Wet sand them out? .. Machine polish.

bit of work, maybe a day but not that severe really!

Buff marks are from panel beaters who can't machine polish. You will find them throughout the whole car to where they have machined unfortunately! I wouldn't have them detail the car if i were you.. it'll just get worse!

Jarred
26-12-2011, 09:09 AM
along the lines of what pierre has said, maybe get Final Inspection to detail the car, and send the bill to the panel shop, rather than them doing more paint, or more damage to the paint.

Final Inspection are regarded as the best in Melbourne, if I'm not mistaken.

fatmir305
26-12-2011, 10:46 PM
Thanks guys!

I might drop by Final Inspection and see what they think.
Yeah a mate who's a panel beater/painter said it takes about 8 hours worth of work to possibly make it normal.

Here is what I mean by the difference:
The original is in better quality than the new camera phone one but you can tell.

Bloody key marks... and thats the good side haha

Personally i wouldn't say the best. Have you seen his products? Rebranded ..... and his pads? terrible lol. (have a box here that he sent that will never be used!)

There are quite a few good ones in Melbourne. He is good, but i wouldn't say the best. Probably the most "self hyped" detailer lol.

For the money you will spend on the madina wheels they are a bit exxy dude for t9 forged from china! Same colours or going different centres?

fatmir..

Personally, i'd give it a go yourself. I would probably choose eurogloss even though personally not a fan of him, but his work is better than final inspection i think anyhow! expect to pay for either quite a bit though. I think about $60-80 an hour for correction is the going rate.

Silver dub
23-01-2012, 03:55 PM
If its anything like the jetta grille, put your fingers through the top slates and there are 3 or 4 clips going upwards.

When you pull the clip down use your otherhand to slowly pull the grille forward each time you undo each clip.

Start from one side and work to the other.

Ha....at first i thought the spokes from the R8 wheels were on the new wheels also ,lol.
I actually don't mind the look of the new wheels but it would be good to see them properly photoshop'd on the car.

Are they silver or white?

Hahaha everyone thinks that.
Yeh they look a lot better in person. They silver.

Love the new wheels! :D

Can I score a "low" sticker dude?! pretty please!

I'd love a low sticker for my front lip.

or sump.

No worries guys. Friday at HQ or something il give you one?
Thats if you will be there of course.

Sorry, but your information is totally incorrect and false.

Final Inspection products are not rebranded at all.

His current Final Inspection polishing pads are regarded by true professional detailers and experienced amateurs that have used them as very good. Perhaps you are confused with another companies products.

Word of mouth is never "self hyped"

There are many long time members on VWW that have used FI products and services and regard the company and it's products as some of the best. That is how "word of mouth" works.

Sorry but its not an argument i will get into with you. Ill say this, its who you know and what you know to what you find out and have been told. nothing to do with word of mouth.

nothing wrong with his products what so ever, but dont believe the hype on everything you see, read or use because of marketing. (in general, not specifically as 'such')

Otherwise, maccas burgers are a great meal for everyday life :)

Awesome Eos mate. The wheels and a bit of lowering has made an already good design look better. My girlfriend is currently looking at a 2.0T FSI DSG, this one had a beautiful deep red leather interior, it's so boss. Hopefully she pulls the trigger on it and she gets it, it's no slouch too!

Found some R brakes off a Scirocco that are basically brand new.

Or should I look for something slotted and drilled?
Its not a track car, obviously, so don't know which way to go.

In the process of getting that prepared. So new grill bought and will make the lower chrome bit black to make Jarred happy haha.
