Golf R - Auto Scan - Fault Codes

Hi all,

I recently purchased a Ross Tech cable and ran an auto scan on my new R.
Although technically savvy, I am a VAG-COM noob and would really appreciate some help in relation to my error codes!

Things to note (not sure if they are all relevant):
1) 2011 3 Door Golf R (Build Feb 2011)
2) Dynaudio
3) OEM RCD-510 just upgraded to RNS-510. Thought I had coded appropriately but am getting error codes, and the sat nav instructions are not showing on the MFD
4) I have installed a Parrott MKi9200 with UNIKA for steering wheel controls (not sure if this is throwing the CAN BUS codes)

I have recorded all the original coding for the changes I have made when re-coding for the RNS-510.

I should note that before I installed the RNS-510, but AFTER the Parrott install, the scan was slightly different.
Unfortunately I haven't got a scan of before the Parrott was installed as I only bought the cable recently.

Delete the codes and scan it again. Lots of those open circuit ones will be due to disconnecting the radio with the battery connected.

you need to recode your gateway to say its now got a sat nav unit and recode the sat nav to say its got dyn audio ect then hard reset the sat nav unit by pressing the 4 buttons across the top eject info/star button ect that should bring display on mfd should be able to find a thread on here or have a look on mygti.com for further instructions delete all faults and see whats left

Looks like your you have coding issues!!! Use the long coding helper when you select the navigation unit(56) choose which systems you
have installed in the car then reset unit as mentioned by bushnut.... if you keep getting faults for wrong coding try again....

Thanks for the advice guys - very helpful as I felt a bit lost in the world of VAG-COM!

- I had coded the Sat Nav for Dynaudio - I get the symbol when the unit starts up. It could be that I coded it to Dynaudio BAP DSP, rather than just Dynaudio. Might try that. I have also reset the unit after coding. The RNS-510 seems to be behaving ok.

- I don't think I coded the CAN Gateway to tell it I have Satnav - that explains the lack of sat nav in the MFD.

- Other issues are HVAC & Instruments: I wasn't sure about deleting the fault codes - thought it might be a bad idea, but sounds like it's the way to go.

Will give that a go.
