Hey,
As we all know cruises and events are far and few between on these forums so i think we should try to get some more happening (yes i know you have been as-well geoff)
Proposal
What: Meet up at DNA Tower followed by cruise to AHG/RAC skid pan (or midvale?) then cruise to a lunch or dinner.
Who: Every body and anybody
Where: DNA Tower, RAC Track, Food place
Why: For Fun!
Date: September sometime? (middish? depends on everyone availability)
Cost: To be investigated but i hope no more than $50?
Please feel free to contribute any ideas. Would love to see this happen and for us all to get out as a group more.
Cheers

I'll be in if I'm around, some of the guys from vwgolf.net have organised a skidpan this Sunday at AHG, but I can't make that so would love to do this in Sept :)
Good work mate!

Hopefully be able to attend a get together of some sort in September, however as Shakespeare has mentioned if anybody wants to hit the skidpan a little sooner a couple of us are doing the Performance Driving Course on 10th July PM session. Last i checked there was still a few spots left if anyone's keen.

Sounds good to me mate! I have an idea floating around in my head for something else later in the year too, but have other things to concentrate on at the moment. :D

I'm up for whenever.
I did the performance driving a fortnight ago, and the tuning arvo last week. Good fun, but brutal on tyres!!!
All you need is a helmet.

skidpan will cost about $80 and needs to be booked in avance. The track (tuning arvo) is only held on week days and its about $60 but still needs to be booked in advance.
I wouldn't mind doing the track, either at RAC or midvale. I'll pass on the skidpan, i've done it too many times and its a bit boring now

Well thats fair enough, Only problem i see with that is not many people would be able to get an weekday arvo off? Does midvale do weekend track?

That would never stand up in court.

I've only been there once but 99% sure it was a weekend

Check the rac website. The upcoming dates are all on there somewhere...
The tuning day (track) i just did was a Friday arvo. Not much of a track really, just big sweeping bends. Still, a good chance to get a feel for car limits..

I'd rather that than the skidpan :)

Anyone? Or is it just a toss up? Anyone know if you can get barbagello track days?

I think you need to be part of a CAMS affiliated club to to barbagallo. WA Sporting Car Club (WASCC) is probably best suited to us. And a CAMS L2S license.
The RAC place recommend people do the Performance (skidpan) training first. You'll get better guidance too. Then do the Tuning Day around the "track".

I did the RAC skidpan on Sunday, had an absolute blast and highly recommend it for those that haven't hit the track previously.
