This car has been my baby for about 4 years. We bought it with 131,000km on it and I have done a lot of work on the car in that time. The car now makes 82kW at the wheels, and 300Nm of torque from 2700 rpm, which equates to about double the stock hp. Its a great car to drive, with plenty of speed considering that its a 17 year old diesel that still gets between 5 and 6 litres per 100km, easily.
The car is happy to run on biodiesel or regular diesel.
I am very sad to be selling the car. I never thought I would be selling it this soon but I have come to realise that owning 3 cars that all require my time on the weekends is just too much, so I'm getting a much newer, and slightly larger car for a daily. With 2 other mk1's I have more than enough to do.
This car does require some extra maintenance over your regular golf 3, probably similar to a VR6, but less expensive. Its a car that still has a lot of life left in it, and is very rewarding to own. I would very much love for this car to go to someone who will love it.
Car is available from next weekend but can be viewed evenings in Gosford or weekdays in Mt Kuring-Gai (Near Hornsby)
