Cutting compound

I sprayed my car with acrilic paint, have now left it for a month to shrink and just sanded it with 1200.
Now ready to cut and polish.
Anyone have suggestions for a good cutting compound. It was suggested to me to use Brasso (the one that comes in the tub) but I am not sure about that and suspect that their may be a better alternative.

I've been using "T Cut" for 40 years always with outstanding results.

I use t-cut too. It's awesome for bringing up dull old paint.
The only problem is I can't find it anywhere now!!!

i use 3m cutting compund at work on all my acrylic paint jobs, and for a tip when useing acrylic i have found out on your second to last coat add a bit of 2k thinners to it and even more on ya last coat but be carefull cause the paint stays wetter for longer and just melts together better. if you are suspect just try it out, it really works my tafe teacher told me about it. and if you are going to paint plastics or vynal add a bit of oil to you paint makes it more flexabile

I've always done that too! The final coat needs virtually no buffing back if you get the mix right.

Great tip thanks Bris.We have to be carefull with our drying times here in Tas as we are just a little colder.

justa bit of engine oil, also if you ever go to thinners plastic you will notice that it turns white right? the way around this is to use a ragpour some enige oil over it and the add your thinners cause the oil protects the plastic while you thinners it
