After hours of calling VW dealers in Melbourne,Sydney, and Brisbane, no one could advise me of installing proper OEM bluetooth into my new 2011 Polo 6R TDI Comfortline. Thanks to VWWatercooled I ordered all parts from eBay and the result is excellent. Not much technical knowledge needed at all.
1) Ordering
From polish ebay seller "used_parts_specialists".
RNS510 "D" version (HW:H41, SW:3890, built January 2011)
Part 1T0 035 680 D
HW H41, SW 3890
Bargained him down to $1000 inc shipping. The AUD is strong after all.
Arrived in 4 days. No bent parts like other users have mentioned.
From spanish ebay seller "bluewagen".
9W7 Bluetooth kit (not the 9WZ which also has rSAP)
Part 5K0 035 730 (built January 2011 - this is the successor of 7P6 035 730 C)
$370 including microphone and cabling harness.
Arrived in 3 days.
2) Correcting the spanish harness
Most likely the Spanish harness will work fine as-is, however it has the microphone connection bridged between the RNS510 and 9W7 Bluetooth. The RNS510 has a separate microphone pass-thru, so I changed the pins as detailed here:

and
Volkswagen RNS 510 Microphone Connection for voice control | my-gti.com (http://www.my-gti.com/1234/volkswagen-rns-510-microphone-connection-for-voice-control) (Option B)
I also cut the microphone wire to make installing easier, and then rejoined it at the centre console to the piggyback harness (see point 4 below)
3) Removing the old RCD310 system
Follow the excellent instructions by GraveDilute, this guy is awesome.

Particularly note the noob hint to remove any CD's first!
More pictures here: (note this is for a Golf though! it's different but gives you some idea)

4) Wiring the microphone
After removing the RCD310 I wired the microphone, starting at the cabin light at the top. This all clips out very easily with minimal force. Note there is a piece of black plastic where the microphone belongs which has to be gently clipped out with a long screwdriver.
You don't have to unscrew the sunvisor, mirror light or roof handle at all.
Just unclip the driver side A-pillar trim buy pulling firmly starting at the top. There is no Torx screw under the Airbag logo, it's all just clips. I did this with no damage. In fact, there is not even an Airbag under the A-pillar trim I could see.
Here is a guide for the Golf, again note it is much easier in Polo because there is no Torx screw:

Use a long rigid wire (like solid copper electrical wire) to push the microphone cable from the dome light to where you unclipped the A-pillar trim. No need to remove the headliner at all as there is plenty of space at the front near where the headliner meets the windshield.
Route the wire down the A-pillar, and unclip the trim at the driver's side of the dash, and again use the rigid solid copper electrical wire to push the microphone wire to the centre console where the radio was.
5) Install RNS510 radio
Again just follow GraveDilute's photo instructions above. I put the GPS above the air vents too, perfect spot for it. Removing the air vents required some jiggling, but it was fine. I didn't break any trim when doing this. Also remove the aircon control unit (2 screws from below, above where the cupholders are), and when you are inserting the RNS510 into the slot, you can help by pulling the extra cables away from behind the RNS510 using a hand in the aircon controller slot.
6) 9W7 Bluetooth module
I have the comfortpack climatic controls and the Bluetooth module fits perfectly behind the controls. This may/will not work if you have standard aircon controls, and you will have to route the module to under the seat.

Issues:
- None really. Bluetooth and DVD Region playback work out of the box. No need for VAGCOM/VCDS coding.
-A2DP Stereo streaming with iPhone 4. Full addressbook download in under 1 minute. No issues.
- The non-GTI Polo's have a cheap midline MFD in the dash cluster, so you don't see any song or Bluetooth or any info at all. To pair the Bluetooth, the module is "discoverable" as soon as you turn the ignition on, PIN code for me was 0000 not 1234, so you don't need the highline MFD to pair.
- The standard steering controls work without coding. The telephone and voice control buttons don't.
- The "star" button on the RNS510 allow voice control. The steering wheel button for voice control stays as mute until you code with VCDS.
An awesome way to spend ~$1400 AUD. Think of the added safety with Bluetooth too!
