My mirrors are misty in the morning, and the internal electric adjuster (left right up down) has a heater symbol for the mirrors too, but i don't know how to switch it on.

I put on the rear window element but the mirrors stayed misted :(

Can some answer this heated question ?

Well, seeing as I can't actually look in my car as it hasn't been built yet, in my current mk4 golf, there is a setting as part of the mirror adjustment that you rotate the knob to which activates the heating function...Check there maybe, if all else fails, take a look in the owners manual :)

Crap, just realised that's what you're doing already! :) you will know when they are heating up, the glass become quite warm to the touch. Otherwise, take the car back to the dealer. Have you put speakers in your doors by chance...?

rotate the mark on the adjuster knob to point to the hot mirror icon - on a Skoda, that's all you do. Possibly you might have to turn on the rear demister? It can't be a big deal because on our Calais the heated mirrors were on the moment the ignition came on

I recommend Rain-X on the mirrors. It makes the dew bead & then fall off

awesome. Rotation coming up. Had been too woosy to turn it past L or R - but makes sense now :)

The polo manual is pretty poor. Dont get me started on the DNS 510 manual. Where have all the German to English writters gone?

You should try Czech to German to English.

I think the writters are off learning how to spill

So is it warming yet, or still in boo boo mode? :)

pretty sure the outside temp also has to be under either 5 or 6 Deg C also.

Well it was 20 degrees here on sunday and in the torrential downpour I drove through to pick up my girlfriend from the future music festival absolutely covered my side mirrors, until I turned on the heating setting, then I could see no worries.

It's all good. No more mist covered mirrors in the Canberra mornings.

Not to my knowledge. They just come on. I doubt anyone would feel any actual "heat" of the couple of strips behind the mirror

According to the owners manual of my MY11 Golf R, the ambient tempurature has to be 20 degrees C or below for the heated mirrors to function.
They initially operate at maximum power, then after a few minutes they'll adjust based on the ambient temp.

You can see the heat element on this picture:

looks much more efficient / heavier duty Skoda. I think Skoda has a little man farting or rubbing sticks together

Ha Ha!! :) though beleve me, they do get warm, I'd say around the 40 degree mark, not enough to inflct a full on burn though but you sure do notice it after you touch them!

Ill keep my hands on the multifunction steering wheel, and let the VeeDub heated mirrors do their thang.

Took it to a vag com man today as my dealer had left the RNS 510 DVD set to zone 2. He looked mighty taken with the chosen transport.

Did someone say smug ? ;)

All the Euro cars I have owned have had heated side mirrors, and they all switched on automatically, as has been mentioned before.

BTW, do you have a sunroof 77kw polo TSi? May need some more room for that inflated head;)....enjoy buddy.

Gavs / GTI Joe .... You guys are getting the Polo on steroids ... Who is going to need sunroofs when they arrive ?

I liked the GTi so much I already asked the dealer how much for a trade in at Christmas.

I only share my smugness with you to keep your dream alive and let you know how awesome the 77kW is - just be gentle when your GTi's get here ;)
