I'm really keen to come along to this. I'd love to put the golf up on the rollers if any spaces open up.

Update:

I've been receiving alot of feedback, both positive and negative. To start with, I am not a Professional Event Organiser. And this is the first Dyno Day i have organised, So my apologies if i seem a little disorganised.

The Attendees list from the EOI thread(s) was there to give me(and others) an indication of how much Interest there is in this event. Having your name on that DOES NOT secure you a spot on the day. To secure your spot you must pre-pay.
There will be 15 spots on the dyno on the day.

For Pre-Payment details please PM me.

Once payment has been received, I will email a entry form to you, you will also need to sign a disclaimer on the day.

Cheers, Kev

I'm very interested, although only 15 spots it seems kind of a waste to put my car on which is essentially stock!

i know it sounds silly to have 7 trophies amongst 15 spots but i had decided on the trophies before the dyno operator told me he will only do 15 cars.

did i read V6? i'm expecting turbo 4's to dominate the spots, so a V6 could have a very good chance, even if it is stock...

I'm interested in putting the Clio on for ****s and giggles... but I'd be keen to hear a little more about the event.

ie. Will there be food/drinks available? Chairs and shade?

i am Organising a BBQ, but there is also a Cafe Next door.. as for seats and shade, Space is limited, i'll ask the venue if the have chairs for people to sit on.

Yeah my cars a V6. The best thing is R32 Golfs can't go against my car because they're AWD. teehee

others that could bed in your class are Camry's/Aurions, Magnas/380's, Eclipse?, Tiburons, But how many of them are going to be there i don't know..
the Magna club showed some interest.. so did a few aurion drivers.. see who gets in first i guess..

1.5 for forced fed means my 1.4 TSI is rated above the GTI?

Dont think so. Doesn't seem quite right to me.
Congrats on trying to organise this, though

is yours force fed?
more exsapmles?

a 1.4l turbo making 135KW would work out like this. 1.4 x 1.5 = 2.1 than 135 / 2.1 = 64.3KW/L
a 1.4 NA making 95KW would work out like this 95 / 1.4 = 67.8KW/L

this is just for the best KW/L trophie.. instead of a Highest power on the day, this brings all cars together with a chance..

OK, I'm an idiot. Must have been asleep when I wrote that rubbish.
In stock trim with quoted output figures (118KW for the TSI and 160KW for the GTI), the TSI will return a slightly better KW/L figure than the GTI with the multiplier applied to both.
Apologies to all. :duh:

Another Update;
Less than 1 week till the event. Unfortunately i have not been able to secure any sponsors, But the trophies have been Paid(out of my own pocket) for and i will be picking them up Tuesday.
Queensland StreetCar Magazine will have a Photographer out there to cover the event for their Magazine.
There quite a few people telling they would like to come and pay on the day, if you are one of these people, make sure you get in early so you don't miss out.

I am still looking for a Club/Forum/Group who is willing to host a BBQ on the day, if your keen, PM, Email(kev@hyperaustralia.com) or Call me(0415826064) to orange this.

Cheers Kev

So are the 4motion owners still excluded if we pull the haldex fuse and essentially make our cars fwd :)

Kinda off subject but I've been keen to put my car on a dyno but last time I had a service Jimmy told me dsg's are no good on the dyno and can't get a good reading. Has anyone had these issues before? I'd like to make sure I don't wast my money if I sign up.

Thanks for organising this. Good to finally get some numbers. I'm pretty happy. Except for being beaten by a ford. Which I will add, was brought to the event on a trailer and was a dyno only car. It had stock brakes! I claim a moral victory. I'm always keen for a cruise too. Post links to the photos when they're up.

yes he may have trailered it there, it was driven to and from events(he drives it from Toowoomba to brissy and back) but, he blew his gearbox(again) at powercruise last year and has only just had it fixed. well it got the call 4:30 friday afternoon to say he could have the car for the event. i wouldn't expect to see it out again any time soon, his missus is about to drop.

i must say, the golf gave me the biggest shock, i new it would get a big number but it was bigger than i thought, if you hadn't had the CPU issue(or what ever that boost issue was) i'd say you wouldn't be far off the pace. Hope to see you again at the next one, with a few more mods, you could possibly take that trophy off him.

as soon as i get my hands on some photos i'll start posting them.
once again, Thanks for coming
