I may just have to attend the Super Sprint. I'd prefer to do both but I am not sure I will be granted the leave required from the family duties.

i'll go to the show n shine but i don't think my car would survive the sprint day.... it would probably be quicker to get out of the car and actually sprint too.

well it was pretty much this event last year when i got home and decided i wanted to race a MK1..so I absolutely can't wait for this day and it has been a long time coming and the car should be ready a couple weeks before hand

Just remember that you are going to need to have a Cams L2S licence ($103), Club Vee Dub membership ($45) and then the supersprint fee ($170).

Still no joy with the regs and entry forms. Problems with the crash team we'd booked. Apparently not permitted at Wakefield Park. Would have been nice if I had of been informed this 2 months ago instead of me having to chase it up over and over. Anyway rest assured I will get it done before 21st May, only I am not allowed to post entry forms or regulations until they are approved. If I did that I would lose the licence that took me 18 months of hoop jumping to get.

SO...

The folllowing is a link to last years entry form. The only difference to this form will be that the date in the top left corner will change to 21st May 2011. http://users.tpg.com.au/berzerk/Chris/clubvw/EntryForm.doc

The following is a link to last years supplementary regulations. http://users.tpg.com.au/berzerk/Chris/clubvw/2010SuppRegs.doc
There are a few changes to these.
The date obviously
The names of the stewards.
The entry fee goes to $180/200
The classes will be as per NSW Supersprint panel rules with the exception that type 1&2 are combined.
Crash rescue will not be by CRAFT, it wil be someone else.

Everything else should stay the same, including the event secretary's address which is where you will send entries.

And if you havent seen the link before this is the link to the categories. http://supersprints.com.au/rules-and-regulations/2011/2011%20Vehicle%20Regs.pdf

A reminder to all that this is now a little over a month away with pre entry available here:
Club VeeDub Sydney Inc: Club VeeDub Payment Gateway (http://clubvw.org.au/payments/?page_id=4)

You save $5 if you pre enter the show and shine and $30 if you pre enter the super sprint.

Entry Forms are up.

Anyone know what the regulations are with regards to diesels. Under CAMS general regs they state that Turbo Diesel capacity is calculated at 1.5 times the actual capacity. Super Sprint Regs do not have a listing for it though.

Never mind. Sorted it out.

Are they using the 1.5x factor for TDI?

Evaded Motorsport
21-04-2011, 07:14 AM
Yeah they are. I hate the 1.5x factor, Stupid 3J Rules are a PITA, have to run a 36mm inlet restrictor when the time comes which is ridiculous considering the air diesels need to flow. Anything bigger than a VNT17 is going to be pointless and that isn't exaclty a big turbo. Will have to see how it goes with a 17/22 or the Kerma K3.

Not too clog up teh thread but yess there is a lot of "grey area's" regarding running a diesel. My Dad has been working with Improved Production to try and encourage the use of alternative fuels. Its a long way off but should be good...

IPRA allows diesels, there are a couple of people building them as far as I am aware. Atleast it is being discussed on the IPRA forums. The bigger issue is the restrictor limits.
