[GT 12 WA]

Hi Guys,
Just found the site so I thought I'd introduce myself. Currently waiting on a 3dr GTi that I ordered in March. Hoping it arrives by mid June as I'm hanging out to drive it. It'll be a bog standard manual in black.

Just sold my 2001 WRX to get something more refined (and German :) ). Not really planning on doing anything to it as I'm sharing it and a modded 05 WRX with my girlfriend.

Look forward to adding some pics in the not to distant future. :)

Yeah, wasnt too sure of black but the only other colour I liked with the Golf was the red, and our WRX is red so didnt want another one.
You'd be surprised how many black cars are here in the west anyway so it cant be that bad can it?!!

Any comments on the performance of VW air cons?! I'd expect it to be good. I know Merc ones are.

Its been 9 weeks tonight since I ordered it. When I checked at 6 weeks it had been built and was probably waiting for the ship, so I'm hoping it wont be much longer than a 12 week wait. :?

Welcome GT. Great choice of car for you mate. Welcome to the forum, hope you enjoy it, we are a friendly bunch here.
The wait for you sounds like a short one compared to most of us GTi owners here. It is well worth it though, believe me!!!! :D

Not you too!! im also waiting on a black GTI, Im in week 3 now and i was told end of July. its killing me the wait, well like all you GTI owners have been saying 'its worth the wait'.

My wait seemed to last for ages - it was meant to be 11 weeks, but it ended up comng in early - only 8 weeks. But mine was already on a boat when I bought it.

Definittely worth the wait. 1st time in years that I went out for a drive just for the hell of it.

I just can't wait till I have a spare weekend to take it for a proper run. Something like the putty road is looking good at the moment:D

Hi all,
I have just recieved my VIN number and have found out my car was discharged at Sydney on the 22/5, i was first told my car would arrive in august, then july and now next month.

Does anyone know how long it might take my car to arrive in melbourne to be picked up?

Im starting to really get excited!!

that's odd - i am pretty sure the boat from the Fatherland comes via South Africa, Perth, Melbourne then Sydney. So it should have come off a Melbourne.

Here's the details for my R32 - it was built 1 Apr

In fact on Friday i saw a Patricks car carrying truck drive past in the city - hanging on the back were two R32s - one gray one blue. I think i said "oh come on - that's not fair to show me that" ;)

I had previously been to this website and placed my VIN number in. I was given the following info:

Im so glad i didnt have to wait for mine....im not sure i could handle it...id book tickets overseas so i can go visit while its getting built :D

I was lucky and know someone at VW Aus and was able to pick up one of the first ones in early 2005...so no wait at all...well 10 days anyway :rolleyes:

Just go a call from dealer saying my car has arrived in Perth :D, exactly 10 weeks since placing order. Has to go through some delivery stuff by Patricks and I could have it by next week or week after depending on how many cars are ahead of it.

Was originally told late june/early July for delivery so I'm pretty happy that its arrived so soon, especially as I sold my WRX 2 weeks ago and I'm borrowing cars to get to work.

Hopefully I can have some photos soon. :D

OMG!!!!! Just got a call from VW telling me my GTI will be ready for pick up next friday!!!!!!!!!!:) i cant believe it, it is 8 weeks early. I cant wait!! and great timing cos im heading to the grampians with my g.f for the long w/e.

Sorry im just soooo excited i had tell u all!! (havent even told the missus, cos im goin to surprise her next fri) cant wait to take it for a drive!

Although it's no where near as cool as yours - I too feel your pain. I was all go by my finance company now and then once I put down the deposit they told me they needed an extra 2.5G's from me :(. So I have a 13 day, 16 hours and 20 minutes untill I'll have the cleared funds to go and collect MY GTI.

How are you handling the final sleeps? Do you just close your eyes and drive in and out of your drive way in it like I do? It's doing my head in!
