Is it possible to fit heated seating elements to a comfort line polo?

I mean buy the heater element pads, wiring harness and two dash switches .... Or is it more complex / fire hazard ??

Cold winters in Canberra.....

I have had heated seats in various cars in the past, they nearly always fail to different extents (mainly heating elements screwing up) within 5 years. Too complex.......spend your money on a good blanket;)

Agreed, nice when they work.

I'm coming from a 2005 MINI Cooper S Cabrio to Polo GTI and the heated seat question was a non issue. The MINI seats never failed me but went from really warm to lukewarm heat and there was no knowing what it would do.

When I saw there was a leather option for the Polo and that it had heated seats, my attraction was to the leather until I saw it. How can they charge that much for mostly velour that looks like crap the moment you've sat on it.

I substituted my leather/heted seat option for a Panoramic sunroof.

The sunroof kind of strikes a balance b/w going from a soft to a hard top, but also means my wife will travel with me more often as she hates convertibles. Will let you know if this is a good or bad thing after I get the Polo lol

My friend fitted one of the heated seat kits to his MX5. Still Work perfectly after a few years. Has a two position rocker switch which has a factory look to it. I will ask him where he got them..

then again there seem to be many sources online Seat Heater for Cars and Trucks from HeatedSeatKits.com (http://www.heatedseatkits.com/heatedseatkits/index.html)

Sunroof and wife sounds good, but still recon a warm butt is the way to go.
Agree the fake leather option for polo is sad. How much was the sunroof option?

From memory sunroof was $1700 and "leather" was $1900 - no brainer at the time and still now

"but still recon a warm butt is the way to go" - I could make comment but reckon the Mod would get involved LOL ;)

Those US ones from heatedseatskit look fine. Doesn't look complex - just fiddely.
'pologti18t' sure would like to know where your pal got theirs and if he self fitted?
