Mirror Conundrum

Hola Amigos, I was wondering if anyone has had experience of trying to remove the rear vision mirror off the winscreen of the T4, I tried & the winscreen has started cracking. DOH! :?

Am not sure don't own a T4 but don't they bond the rear vision mirror to cars these days, am not sure what with ???? could be industrial strength glue :o

Its not the glued section Im after, the actual stem that holds the mirror on is kind of locked on Ican feel movement but can't workout how it comes off
