Hi guys,

I woke up this morning and done my usual check over the car, but this time noticed that the rubber window seals are sort of fading\ looking worn, its not patchy like some describe but the entire rubber surface..

Any ideas or hints, or should I take it back to the dealer?

H mate I had the same thing. The dealer called it an oxidizing effect, sot likely caused by the long trip on the boat with sea air.

They were gracious enough to take it back and give it a full detail. Came up trumps.

If you get serious, here are two products I have used:

Waxit - Premium Car Care Products (http://waxit.com.au/proddetail.asp?prod=MG0007)

Waxit - Premium Car Care Products (http://waxit.com.au/proddetail.asp?prod=EZ0009)

honestly, before i got into minor hand detailing, i used to hate that look, but didnt know how to avoid it.

i started using different products, from bumper black, to tyre shine sprayed onto a thin sponge and carefully applied, but the effects were only very temporary.

nowadays, and given that i'm quite lazy, i simply spray mother's FX spray wax all over my car, after i've cleaned and polished it.

not only does it wax-on-no-need-to-buff-off with the paint work, but it also works brilliantly on the window seals, plastic rub strips, front grille- everything! it brings it back to a nice dark finish, and it stays that way for ages- rain, hail, or shine.

oh, and it's only $25 for a 700ml bottle of spray wax, which will do everything from your roof to your window seals to your front grille to your windows (it d7cks on any rain-x that i've tried), and it'll last a good... well, i bought my bottle in may, i wash my car every 2-3 weeks, and it's still 1/3 full.

try it on!

Hey thanks all, might try the mother FX spray as its alittle more readily available to me.. especially since getting back to the dealer is a pain in the bum.
What sort of bottle does it come in? and just 'spraying it on' doesn't leave clumps or anything? It sounds similar to that nice smelling shiner they use in the spray guns at Car Lovers.. not that i take the Polo there :)
