New Tig owner

Hi all,

After being screwed around with the delivery on my Hyundai IX35, I walked in to my local VW dealer last week and "ordered" my new Tiguan 103TDi. Should be picking it up next week, and have already found a bunch of info here for things I plan to do to it!

What options did you get?

I compared the Tig to the IX35 and the Tig just outclasses it when spec'd similarly.

I went for a Night Blue DSG with Beige Leather + a Comfort Pack and MDI.

Since it was already in stock, I missed out on the Sat Nav option I wanted - but have been reading here about installing one myself - now I'm glad it didn't have one fitted!

Nice choice, the night blue is quite dark compared to my biscay blue.
Make sure you get some sealer or a good quality leather protectant, those beige seats show up teh stains very quickly.

RNS510's can be sourced cheap enough adn installed in less than 10 minutes when you have the installation guide.

Yeah, silver leaf was my preference, but Night Blue was my second choice, and it was already in stock.
I'll be sure to give it a coat of protector as soon as I pick it up.

I've been reading around about installing one. I might try and get it installed before I have to take it back for the 1000k service, and see if I can get them to do the VAGcom changes when I bring it in. Is the installation guide you mentioned on these forums? I've only just started looking today, but all I've found so far are guides for installing one into a Golf.

Nope no pictures as yet. It was fresh off the boat, and hadn't been taken out of the dealer's storage yard yet. I just heard from the dealer today and it was getting detailed + window tints today so hopefully I get it early next week, and I'll take some pics then.

Welcome to the forums mate,
There is no 1000km service anymore, so you will have enough time to get the RNS510 and install it. We Tig drivers are helpful bunch, so don't hesitate to ask the questions. :)
